Class of 2020 SG/SF Nate Kingz (OR) TRANSFERRING TO SYRACUSE (4/2/25)

Shocked if RJ Luis doesn’t go pro. Not sure if getting players with multiple years of eligibility is much of an advantage as every year is a renegotiation.

Claude? Jean Claude…Van Dam??? Who’s Claude?

I think they’re trying really hard to get the most talented and best fit for what we need. They’ve put a lot of feelers out on point guards and combo guards.

Confused about this player. What year is he? He changed his name from Nate Meithof to Nate Kingz. His former name is listed as playing some games for Southern Idaho Junior College, also Westmont College etc besides Oregon. The Westmont info says he played back in the 2020-2021 season. I know I’m nuts but it seems like the same guy. Shooters must like changing their names. :)

They change their names the way I change my underwear...once every two years.

Please, no more combo guards. We need a real point guard. If we don’t get one, I am not investing much time in the upcoming season.

I don’t know what we may end up with, but you might have to take what you can get. Wagner‘s a combo guard and he would be a lot better than anything we’ve had.

I would rather Claude but I’d really prefer none of the 3 and getting PG that can shoot but doesn’t seem likely at this rate so based on what we know I’d go Claude.

So far nothing that is relevant to what we need. We have all the high20% low 30% 3pt shooters we need. K. Anthony good shooter but so was Choppa. Tough for freshman to get used to size and speed. Need at least 2 40% is 3 Pt shooters probably wing and PG

How is Kingz not relevant? Some people on this board have lost their minds acting like we have our pick of perfect players.

I heard we only have enough money to sign Cooper Flagg, that new skinny assistant AD from Davidson, and whichever of our incoming frehlshmen's parents happens to be the best badketball player. Total failure of a transfer window.

Keep this in mind, all ye that are convinced there's no point in recruiting high school players.

There's no guarantee that you will get exactly what you want out of the portal. It's not like coaches get a grocery cart, roll through the portal throwing dudes in it that they have on their shopping list, and head to checkout.

In at least some cases if there's a kind of player or set of skills you want, you'll probably have to recruit and build that talent. Now you just also have to be able to sell the vision a lot stronger than just the player's first year.

I suspect you haven’t watched Kingz video. He seems to be a really dynamic offensive player who isn’t a ball hog. Scored 12 ppg on only 8 shots per game. Needless to say, that’s insanely efficient.

What’s the word on Nick Boyd from SDSU? I know he was mentioned briefly in some threads, and seems like he would be a great fit as a PG who is long enough to defend. Is he in too high demand? 40% 3pt shooter on milder volume his first two years, and mid-30’s on higher volume last 2 years. Maybe we’re just not in the mix? I would prefer him to any others mentioned and think he would complete our guard rotation nicely.

Sorry if info has been shared on his recruitment that I haven’t come across.

He would be a great fit and he’s from downstate. Not much has been said about him or what schools are interested.

Looks like he’s visiting UNC
