Gadsden done for the year

More so playing players while injured. Williams we didnt really have a choice. Dino should have rested Oronde.
Easy to say in hindsight, but major playmakers wanna play and if i were him I would lose my mind if my coaches said you’re not playing the first two games because you’re important even though you’re 100 percent healthy and can reset all kinds of records if you do play. That’s crazy and way different from sitting out of a bowl game before the draft.

maybe we should have sat GS and Wax too, where does it end???

What's ironic is that he was so careful almost going to the turf too easy on the Colgate game as if he didn't want to risk injury and he gets injured anyway.
I’m not saying he was or wasn’t… but in my experience, when a player’s trying to protect themself is when it happens more often.

Playing fast while delivering at the point of contact hurts a lot less.

To me it is, Oronde drew major coverage and concern from defenses and D coordinators. Now they don't have to worry about him ot completely changes their calculus on defending SU. Even though he's not really a TE it also decimates the position that was barren behind him already.
Nobody's disputing that.

But again, that doesn't mean the season is wrecked. There are a lot of games to play and a lot of them are winnable.

Would we rather Gadsden's healthy and a huge part of it? Of course! But Beck's been a part of great offenses that didn't have a WR at OG's level, the defense and special teams still look strong, and we have a very experienced QB that's already shown he can lead us to a bowl.

It's more tragic for OG than anything else.

We can still win tonight, but this is a monster loss.

With OG, we finally had a WR room that was P5-worthy. Without him, we need Hatcher and Brown to grow exponentially.

But we’re not just replacing OG with IJ. No way.

The silver lining to all of this is that it will force GS to spread the ball around.

But this is a monster loss.

Lisfranc injuries suck. If it was me I’d prefer it was my Achilles tbh
Well, you’d be the only one. For instance, Travis Etienne had this injury and missed his rookie season in the NFL. Came back last year and thrived. 1100+ years rushing, 300+ receiving. Still a breakaway threat.

Guys who injure their Achilles often suffer other lower body injuries. Subtle/unconscious compensation.

Gadsden is the biggest loser out of this. He had Day 1 potential and may possibly fall in the draft because of it. He's going to have to kill it at Pro Day and the Combine.

I may have been hyperbolic when comparing it to Achilles but most always foot injuries are real bad news.

Welp, next time our O linemen should be a bit more aware about who they’re blocking into when they’re 5 yards behind the play

Feels like a business decision to me. And I’m ok w that just don’t think this is a season ender

Cut the grass. Prepped dinner. Sat down to marinate with a couple beers before the game and this...well, this sucks. At least it happened early in the season?!?

We're going to miss him, but take comfort in the fact that Cuse put up 38 on offense in the first half against Western Michigan without him last week, while Iowa has put up 7 against that squad this week.
Iowa scores 7 the first half of every game ever.

Starting with Eric years ago, the MAC has a habit of bad play. We need to stop playing teams from that conference.
Play teams like Colgate, Wagner, Holy Cross, Stoney Brook, Army, Navy.
Obviously Dungeys injury against Central Michigan in 2015 was a very dirty play. But was OG’s dirty or just random bad luck? I don’t remember it being anything controversial.

Yes and Syracuse's offense scored 38 in a half last week without their best WR. So maybe Syracuse is doing something right?

Probably bad luck, but there were a number of late hits that weren't called by the Refs.
