Definitely not. Having a perfect grip is the single most important thing. I’ve given probably 40,000 lessons and I would say less than 1 percent have a grip that I don’t change. You’re connected to the club by your hands, so make that connection perfect. People with bad grips always crack me when I change it and they say “wow that feels weeeirdddd”. My reply is always “weird compared to what?” It’s all in our minds how it should “feel”. But you can do anything from a great grip

This summer I read and re-read Ben Hogan's "Five Lessons."

I am committed to building a Hogan swing. So far, so good.

Question: Do you recommend an interlocking grip - which Hogan did not use.
 
I've given up golf and have taken up Brazilian jiujitsu. More rewarding, I got sick of trying like crazy just to break 110.
