This game should be an easy 'Cuse win...but there maybe an indication of how JB plays the bench beginning the season. He has indicated in several pressers that it is difficult to get into a flow when you substitute with so many players and that we have lost large leads from the beginning of the game to the entry and playing of the substitutions And he follows these comments with the fact that team depth is one of the best ever.

If you read the cards, JB is indicating he is not pleased blowing double point leads when he substitutes...he is not saying those coming in as the next wave are not good...he is saying the game flow changes and 'Cuse looses something in the transition.

So, do we see players 6,7, 8 and 9 (not listed as how good but rotation number only) come in all at once, piece meal, or a couple at a time. I believe he is concerned about blowing those double point leads and is trying to find a means to cut down on the come backs by teams after the starters generate a big lead.....

So what does he do and how does he handle this concern...comments!

I am not a basketball expert, just a basketball lover, but I don't think he's going to substitute en masse like he did in the exhibition games.

Scoop, Triche, KJo, Xmas, Melo. Waiters, Fair, Baye... MCW....Southerland.....Mookie/Cooney off the bench. Pretty sure thats going to be our main rotation.

Starters plus CJ, Baye, MCW and Dion.

I think Cooney Red-Shirts, James gets spot minutes and Mookie is buried.

Can't see how we don't play a consistent 9 man rotation this year. The starters plus Dion, MCW, Keita and Fair. I think JS will have a chance to earn minutes based on his play, but don't think TC will have that luxury. I still think he'll end up having a pretty good career when it's all said and done.

I think it will come down to JS and TC for that last spot. There are things each brings that the other clearly doesn't. I think TC is going to have a really nice career here. Don't know if he'll end being as good as Andy was at the end, but he'll be better sooner.

I don't have confidence in JS. He has a hell of a lot of airballs for a guy who is supposed to be a shooter. If we're pressing, which I hope we do a ton of this year, than I want JS to rotate in for his length. He had some good games last year so I really would love to be wrong. I like Cooney though, I think he's going to have a pretty quick learning curve and he's going to have the opportunity to play some minutes at some point during the Big East portion of the season.

believe JB is going to give the 9 or 10 to demonstate court time worth...by the third game, he may be back to his starting 5 plus CJ, Keita, Waiters and MCW...and I believe there is a big surprise coming...initials are MCW

I agree with this but I think both could be in. Our best offense right now is Fabs pick with Dion off the dribble at SG. And SG is a position that needs to put up points. MCW and Rak are Xfactors right now BIG TIME especially in the paint.

I agree and think what is going to push the lineup is three point shooting right now. Thats where the option is open and needed for us. JB is going to look for some quick trigger transition shooters becuase its just good balence.

With all due respect, how do you envision Cooney getting any meaningful minutes at all this year? He's barely gotten onto the court in exhibition games. Multiple indications are that four guards are ahead of him on the depth chart, coached my a guy who often tends to use only three guards. Do you think Boeheim will use five guards? Do you think one or two of Scoop/Triche/Dion/MCW won't play? BTW I do agree that Cooney will be a nice player for this program when it's all said and done, I just don't think we'll see much of him this year.

Did you envision Kristof getting meaningful minutes in 2008? It happens sometimes. Not often, especially with Syracuse, but it does. We'll see what his learning curve is. There's a good chance he's the best shooter on the team and that will come in handy at some point during the season.

No surprise here. MCW will be getting 20 minutes by the beginning of conference play.

This was the fastest I've ever been proven completely wrong.

:rolling: I'm laughing with you, not at you.

It's all good.

Had I not been proven wrong, I think the other possible example for TC this year would have been Andy in 07 who came on big in a few games (especially Gtown at the Dome). But thinking more, you had a great point about the number and quality of guards we have (especially compared to 07).

And its time for the tip.
Go Orange!

only combo i havent seen yet is MCW and Triche...I want to see that because I feel it may be the better combo guard tandem we have...
