Thought I would open this up for updates on how traffic is along certain routes as people come in to the city. If you have a clear run in or things are bogged down throw it in here! Looking forward to a good game! Go Cuse!

Ok... anybody else frustrated with the traffic lately? I am parking on University Ave and getting out after the game is a nightmare. All side streets are closed off until Genesee. I don't recall this in the past.

metaphorically speaking, it's possible
I find a key is to pay attention when stopped at traffic lights.

It's bad I agree.

I get out down Fineview, under I81, down MLK/Castle and that way is about the same as it has been for the last 20 years.

With all the construction slated for the areas surrounding the university, I don't expect much improvement for a long, long, long time.

you wanted the community grid- will get worse before it gets better

FYI MLK parking is now $20. Cheaper than the garages but the walk up to the west lots did not feel safe for my kids or her friends.

Interesting. I haven't parked there in decades.

I would be concerned for a night game but not so much for a day game. I know after the game there is a ton of traffic going by the way back to MLK because that is how I leave the lot and get into city traffic.

Did you take the shortcut up the stairs?

Yes. The girls begged me to use the garage next time.

But they did enjoy the food at the SyracuseFan tailgate. I think she ate the last piece of chocolate chip cookie cake.

I used to park north of campus, but it always took forever from there. Now, i park at COML. I turn left on Colvin(that's a much as I'm giving away because i don't want them shutting down my escape route). You can get anywhere pretty easily after the gamefrom there. The worst part is getting away from the Dome since they blocked the passage between the Dome and the Arch.

Apologies as the Jersey in me is going to talk "roads".

I take the right out of UAG north end and keep going until I hit Ostrom. I don't follow the herd on University.

Then down to Madison, right, then go towards Columbus. Then get on Erie, 690, from there you can go wherever.

(I maybhave said too much)

Good to know.

You should have introduced yourself. Next time, please do so. Ask around, someone will point me out!

If you park either on Westcott street by Euclid, or on one of the side streets off of Euclid going towards the dome, you will have an easy walk with no issues finding a spot. If you actually start from Westcott it is maybe relatively long compared to some walks, but it is flat as hell walking down Euclid, and you will waste zero time looking for a spot. It could be a completely sold out concert/game and it does not matter. There is ALWAYS parking around there. No need to mess with parking lots, shuttles, or anything close to 81 unless you have trouble walking.

Name tags would have been corny but very useful. Couldn't distinguish a wizard from a muggle in that crowd.

I no longer give out my Gameday driving/parking tips and secrets. Too many people are catching on to them.

I’ve parked on Gennesee St usually within a couple blocks of the University intersection. Now the hey are not allowing parking one side. ( Bike lane or something) We couldn’t find spots Saturday….. it sucked. It’s a bit of a walk but very easy to get out after games

Yeah we did that our first time ever to the Dome a few years ago.. never again. Rookie mistake on our part.

If you're able bodied to do this walk, this IMO is one of the best ways to do it.
