It’s almost game day. Where in NYC is the best bar to watch the game? I’m visiting from San Diego and want to watch the game with other Orange fans. LGO!!

I stumbled into Beer Authority for the 4th quarter last week. The beer selection was pretty good, and the fans who were there were into the game. Also, I live in Hoboken, so it was super convenient for me.There are 3 general Orange Game-watch spots which are guaranteed to have Orange fans:
(1) Beer Authority - This is the official Big Apple Orange alumni game-watch spot. I've never been there for an Orange sporting event as this is the 1st year they are the official spot. I know nycfan watched the Clemson game here so he can give a review of the place.
Location: Corner of 40th and 8th Avenue
(2) East End Bar - Unofficial spot, but in my opinion, the best SU game-watch spot in the City. Through the years, the official alumni spot has changed, but this place has remained a constant. This place is guaranteed to have a good crowd of Orange fans. They know the drill here when it comes to Syracuse games (they will have the sound on, the food is good, and there will be intra-game drink specials).
Location: Upper East Side (corner of 87th and 1st Ave)
Thanks for the great information. I’ve decided to try East End. See you guys there. LGO!!!There are 3 general Orange Game-watch spots which are guaranteed to have Orange fans:

(3) Marshall Street - New Syracuse-themed bar also shows Syracuse games. In my opinion, the worst of the 3 options. Weird bar set-up and TV situation. I've only watched one game here and it was an ok experience.
Location: 49th and 2nd
I can't vouch for Beer Authority as I've never watched a game there, but in my opinion the clear best spot is East End. The only time I've had a bad experience there is for an Orange basketball NCAA tourney game where you literally can't move/can't get a beer. (Also, Beer Authority is right next to the Port Authority, which is another reason it gets a strike against it). I'll be at East End so if you make it there, hopefully we'll be high-fiving as we beat the Canes.

I've also been to the East End a few times, but admittedly not since the Marrone era. I remember there being free beer for a half hour before the game and the food being pretty good. That said, as a former resident of the UWS, the idea of going all the way across town and up into the UES is not appealing.
East End is great. The only negative during football season is we share it with Texas Tech and it’s rough when we have games at the same time. But even when that happens they do a great job.
My only experiences at Marshall St. were bad. The service was infuriatingly slow to the point where one of their bartenders constantly went on smoke breaks with one bartender to serve the entire crowd. Went there for the Virginia basketball game and they weren’t even remotely ready for the crowd they got. I can’t imagine going back there.
Have friends coming in from Jersey this weekend so might actually check out Beer Authority.
The only reason I ended up at Beer Authority is because I was in the Meatpacking District while the game was going on, and it was much faster to just take an Uber to Midtown. I've been to the East End 3 or 4 times and had a good experience every time.I'm in Jersey City, so I feel your pain! Beer Authority is probably more convenient, but honestly now with the new Q train to 2nd avenue up and running, you just take the PATH to 33rd, transfer right in the station to the Q, and the Q literally lets you off a block from East End. I'm probably going to go the East End route, especially since I work right across from the Beer Authority (I don't need to be seeing my office building on a Saturday).
