Garrett Shrader Interview | Wake Forest

Just watched. Guy is quiet but clearly smoldering. Of note:
  • He came here because we were on him first and hardest. That's points for Dino and Sterlin. I wish they had started him from the get-go this year, but at least we're at that point now. (And if they had stuck with Devito, I was ready to move on from DFB, as I have said.)
  • Gilbert is an asset for attracting southern QB's. GS said that he connected with him partly due to the southern angle.
  • After the FSU game the team felt disappointed, and that we were the better team and should have won. A++
  • New plays every week. When you're still installing offense for game 6, past performance is not necessarily a reliable indicator of future results.
I've noticed, quite prominently, that we have very good players each year now, who come across as "professional". Cisco had that air. Tucker and Shrader do. Worth noting, IMO. These guys - who do not outwardly betray a desire for attention - need to be setting the tone for the team.

I agree, I think GS and Sean Tucker have cooled the seat of Dino right now IMO.

You can add D guys like Mikel, Garrett Williams, Kingsley, etc to that list.

The team has a different vibe...
Focused,,,no place for drama queens.
With some of his statements about "opening up" the offense, Shrader
is wanting the coaches to put this team (schemes/preparation) in a place to win.
This weekend's game vs Wake ...the teams are evenly matched for talent.
One team KNOWS how to win and the other is learning.
Could be interesting...

Very very cautious optimism right now.
Not me. I woke up early today. Stripped naked, shaved my body, painted myself orange and ran around the neighborhood singing "Down the Field". At least until the sheriff pulled over to tell me running shoes would be better than the SU slippers.
It's legal to run around naked in Vermont, fyi.

Watch out for the woodpecker

I like his concentration. Also it’s good to hear how practice is based around him now as QB1, that can only help us. He made good points about Wake too. If we play mistake free and come up with some big plays, this is a dangerous game for WF.
