No, not automatically.
Usually, if the school has any sort of empathy or scruples, they release the kids.
The NCAA says you commit to a school, not a coaching staff. That's why it's not automatic, and if the school wants to play hardball, they can.

And most schools never would, it’s a terrible look and a great way to get kids never to come to your school
Not a coaching change, but when Pitt initially blocked Cam Johnson's transfer to UNC, there was an uproar in the CBB community, forcing the hand of Pitt & NCAA. Think of how his career could've played out differently if they hadn't given in - now he'll play 10+ years in the NBA.
