George Karl Blasts Carmelo

The rap on Carmelo is what you see in the article about yesterday's game.
Requiring and holding the ball too much...so that it bogs down the offense and results in poor shots and plays.
Limited effort on defense.
That's not the college player who led the Orange to the promised land.

There's at least one columnist who believes the last time the Knicks played exciting, winning basketball was back when Melo was out hurt and Jeremy Linsanity reigned in NYC.

Yeah, the Knicks won 54 games the season after Jeremy Lin left NY. Lin has basically been a backup guard since leaving NY.

The Celtics roster is way better than the Knicks, on paper.

I love Melo in college but his NBA career was totally meaningless- he could play for San Antonio and his career would still mean nothing - a ring? winning a few important games would be a major accomplishment for him - he has a lot of one on one offensive talent and could score the ball in just about every way possible though
Yea, he should go join the Warriors or team up with a bunch of his friends. Then maybe you wouldn't think it was meaningless...

People hate on ring chasers and super teams but then turn around and stay stupid stuff like this about a guy who hasn't done that.

I don't know that the Celtics roster is better but they certainly play as a team and have a defensive identity, two things the Knicks don't do or have yet.

The Knicks have a lot of new players but at this point in the season they should be able to start figuring it out and become a more cohesive unit. Unfortunately, they're still very up and down.

That's an understatement. They've turned over two-thirds of the roster and brought in a new coach. All things considered, they've done quite well to this point, with the potential to be a lot better, provided Noah can give them something and they can keep their big three on the court.

Just because someone has media credentials doesn't mean they automatically have a clue.

Should also point this out about the Linsanity season...the Knicks won 7 in a row when Melo was out hurt...they also won 8 out of 9 after Melo came back. They were winning and playing very well at the end of that season when Lin was out hurt too. That doesn't fit the ridiculous narrative that they were better with a backup guard than a hall of fame forward though so it's ignored by these types of agenda holding, clueless media clowns.

Real Champions like Kobe Bryant, Lebron James and Paul Pierce will tell you all you need to know about Carmelo Anthony.

Consensus hardest player to guard, contain.
