Georgetown just lost their star Ike to transfer...should be easy pickins for the Orange now?

Ban it.

As the patron saint of that word, I'm just giving you a heads up that it's a scheduled substance in this jurisdiction, and one uses it at their own peril!

If the hoya fan was trying to troll us, I dont even get it. It was a pretty unique technique to me, and doesnt resemeble any style known to man. He must be like Bruce Lee, who instead of arguing which martial art worked the best, took the best from each and made his own. Chuck Norris used to be a regular here, but he is no longer here to protect us from Bruce's wrath, so I advise folks to tread carefully until we figure out his play. This reminds me of a zero day virus...we are not sure what we're dealing with here. Stay back, he could have rabies.

nothing will be easy. we are lucky we are not playing rutgers at the rac they are 9-1. they also played some patsies like we do. i am a rutgers paranoid, and don't want them to get good. we get a lot of players out of jersey. they have an excellent coach.

I have seen absolutely nothing from this team yet this year to think that this game is a layup. Georgetown is quite possibly a better team then UConn, and they gave us fits last year in the paint. Can we win this game? Yes. Can we lose this game? Definitely. There are no absolutes in rivalry games.
Yup. We will only be favored by 7

They have not made an NCAA Tournament since 1991, I think there's others we should worry about more than them.

Thinking the 6'9" Ike Copeland who might be the best recruit Hoyas have had since Otto leaving the school is not what the Hoyas needed with the turmoil that surrounds this program. Seems to be playing straight into the Orange's hands. Peak and Pryor will still be there but no Ike could mean tough sledding for the Hoya team.

I'm thinking it's a at least a Cuse cover if not a bludgeoning.

Why anyone would think any team that fields major conference Division 1 basketball players would be "easy pickens" is beyond me. There are no gimmies at this point. As far as Im concerned, every game is potential dog fight at best. Prove me otherwise and I'll reassess. Although I am speaking to some who thought Chukwu was Rudy Gobert

my worry about rutgers as always is not the here and now, but rather recruiting. i don't care about the hx of 1991. they are in a primary recruiting ground for us..

Is there a decent H.S. in the area (J-D?) who can come in this week so we can scrimmage to practice against a decent M2M? JB has said the team cannot play man so one would think the M2M we are going against in practice is garbage. Every time we see good M2M the past few years they can't score or they look shell-shocked. It's unreal.
jb just does not want to play m2m ever. give him 10 new players and he would say the same thing. does anyone remember when jb went exclusively to the zone??seems to me early on we played m2m, but am not sure anymore

As you mention they have just played a bunch of patsies. Their best win is DePaul!l It's not quite time to worry about Rutgers yet until they can get through the Big 10 without totally embarrassing themselves.

Last time I checked Virginia plays the best man defense and we shell shocked them in the end,so check yourself!

It's not that the team cannot play man - the staff refuses to invest the time and technique to teach it properly. You gotta love how JB always makes it sound like it's an issue out of his control.

Oh I get that but I just wrote what he says. Will be very interesting Sat to see if we can get anything going vs their D. Georgetown will play hard. If we're the only team who can't score against him then that will be very telling.

C'mon man. Do I really need to "check myself?" Beyond rude by the way. We have had enough games vs UVA and others where we can't get anything going. In the E8 Boeheim slapped on the press which somehow discombobulated them and "Richardson gone mad!" Otherwise it was more of the same. Big picture, dude.

I was semi-joking in my post but, seriously, if we look clueless running offense vs GTown and can't score then that will be very telling. I'm a little concerned moving forward playing ANY M2M D with high-level D1 players since this season I see a bunch of good players but no NBA Draft ISO types who thrive in that or JB's system. Especially from the guard/small forward positions.

For full disclosure, original poster is hoya fan who is regular poster on their board.

they are 11-1. the coach is awesome and they just signed a 4 star player from centerville ny who is ranked 80th in the country(we did not offer)but he has an impressive offer sheet.
the kind of thinking that don't worry about them is EXACTLY the kind of thinking that was prevalent when our football team tanked, and rutgers overtook us.
sure they will probably have difficulty in the big 10 sched. but the trail signs are there. they are significantly better with no talent under their excellent coach, and will make noise in recruiting. that is the part that bothers me most.
i believe we are beginning a difficult period in hoops, which will not help us.
i feel we should have ru on our ooc sched. to maintain our presence in the area. although i must say that the rac is probably one of the best homer venues i have been in ---go to it everytime su has played there. now that they finally have a decent coach it may fill up again.
