This headline makes it seem he left.Excellent piece by Donna on G-Mac...
Another great article by Donna. Her and Mike do an excellent jobwith these type of articles.
I hope Gerry does whatever he and his wife think is best for their family. I don't understand what the issue of staying in Syracuse is and why it isn't a good thing. Gerry has an important job at a big time school and I'm glad he and the staff are going to keep our long term success going.I always thought he'd make a fantastic BC HC if he decides to spread his wings at some point. He's an identity and they need one. Of course any caviat is he contractually is allowed to come back.
I do hope he gets a chance to be a HC somewhere big and can turn a program around. Him being an asst at Syracuse for too long IMO isn't a good thing for Gerry
If you know Gerry at all, the guy is super competitive.I hope Gerry does whatever he and his wife think is best for their family. I hope Gerry does what is best for Syracuse basketball because, well, I'm a Syracuse fan and I want my team to win.
I expect Gerry to always weigh his options and do what he thinks is best for him and his family. And that's exactly what he should do because that's what responsible adults do.
I don't know that kids' ages play that much of a role for most coaches. Guys with kids pick up and move all the time, it comes with the territory. It's a little like being a military kid.His kids are becoming an age that it will be difficult to pack up and leave. Associate head coach is not a bad gig.
I sure hope Gerry moves up a few seats as you suggest. Always questioned the lack if assistant coaches input during games.I'm sure Gerry is excited to be more of a "partner" to Red than he was to JB, especially on gameday. Like for instance, I envision Gerry actually sitting next to Autry on the bench and them working together, where JB always kept like 3 players in between him and the assistants and literally never listened to advice from them during the game.
And with that, I hope Gerry gets a great opportunity down the road.I'm sure Gerry will be in demand if we get this program turned around. Let's be honest, most assistants who get hired are coming from programs who are a little hotter than we've been the past few seasons.
Maybe, but a lot of those coaches have already been bouncing around all along.I don't know that kids' ages play that much of a role for most coaches. Guys with kids pick up and move all the time, it comes with the territory. It's a little like being a military kid.
