1000% yes.Not as a negative of Red, who by all accounts is a fine gentleman, but what a great presence. A breath of fresh air.

You’re right, what a difference a year makes! And yet last year this board was full of complaints about the difficulty of playing 4 ranked teams early.
Positional versatility on both ends …the plan might be for Dual, Doty, Tobiasson And Moesch to all handle PG duties. This is year 1 tho and GMac is looking to build this roster so a lot of these guys could be back in 2028 then you get your big time PGMy biggest concern by far is point guard. If we are going in with just Dual and Moesch as our guys that worries me. I think he have a lot of guys that can handle the ball but not lead guards. For example; Dual, Moesch (I don’t want him playing big minutes this year, Tobiason, Doty and MMM can all handle the ball better than let’s say JJ. But we don’t have a true lead guard which we’ve won in the past with. But not something I would consistently want to do
Gmac did mention he wants guards and wings 6’5 or taller across the board then you start getting taller at your power forward, center spots…which I like can he did that. He also did say we have a few point guards so I wonder if he views Tobiason as someone who can be ball dominant and lead as well. I know he’s going to find another point guard which I think he needs to do
I also think it’s smart of him where he said no one knows what’s gonna happen with the 5 for 5 and we’ll have more clarity in the coming days and there will be a lot of elite guys back on the board for this year if it passes for this year. So I got the hunch he is waiting on that before making a move on PG….if we can grab a good senior point guard from that ruling this year…this team is in great shape. I said in another post earlier today, I will feel a lot better and reallll good about this team if we can grab a good lead point guard. This will be a really good all around team if we have that. That’s the ONE missing piece right now and I think Gmac knows that. He knows what he is doing and he has a plan.
It will be passed this year but effective for next season, no 5 year guys in 2026.Talked to numerous people at couple of other schools that are also against 5 for 5 being passed this year due to spending majority of budget. Definitely not an isolated Syracuse problem or any sort of mismanagement by Gerry.
Correct. Word though is that seniors are already planning to take this to court. Based off what we’ve seen previously (JUCO, etc) I’m not sure what kind of chances the NCAA has of winning. It will be passed this year but effective for next season, no 5 year guys in 2026.
I was thinking the same thing when he said that. I mean, how could he forget that? Maybe he meant since he’s been a coach? He’s getting old. He forgot he played in Boston against Manhattan and Oklahoma State in 2003.
I love that Gerry could not sleep after the Duke loss, then watched the game a few nights later and could not sleep again. That’s the kind of passion that’s been missing from this program for too long.
I think a lot of the lack of effort at certain times from our players was a reflection of Red not being that passionate, and not seeming to hold players accountable for being lazy.
The way GMAC answered the questions in that interview certainly instills confidence. He seems serious as a heart attack about doing it right.

Don’t vote until August and problem solved.Correct. Word though is that seniors are already planning to take this to court. Based off what we’ve seen previously (JUCO, etc) I’m not sure what kind of chances the NCAA has of winning.
If they start winning, my god what a mess it could become.

What an absolutely ridiculous article.![]()
Gerry McNamara building Syracuse roster to win at all costs, not please the Twitter world
Gerry McNamara said on Tuesday what I've been opining over the past week or so. While some Orange fans are lamenting that the Syracuse basketball 2026-27 rosterinsidetheloudhouse.com
That's the direction my mind went, but as well know, I've been wrong before. It could be interpreted a different way - it could mean that they have x 'allocated' to one position and y 'allocated' to another position that they are looking to fill, not that they have spent all their money. Well, will you describe what is ridiculous about it to you? What an absolutely ridiculous article.
No GMAC didn't pass some posters smell test here, so we should just pack it up for the year. Will some of these poster help us find new teams in the fan portal? It the least you can do.If Gmac is comfortable with the PG position, then I am comfortable with PG position. I am 144% certain that he would not go into the season without that completely covered. He knows what he is doing. I personally find it comical for those second guessing him. And Moesch continues to be dismissed when he in fact outplayed all the elite PGs he faced last year. Trust the process.
