Next big Aussie, her 1st offer Jan 2025 was from LSU, followed shortly by Tx, Az, and Kentucky. Probably already too late to throw an offer in. Update add MissSt to her offers.

We can't compete with that list...or can we?.... We have a prospect from New Jersey, who is a Cuse legacy, that we should be putting all of our chips on her number...

She's incredibly overrated, I have seen her play for years and she's incredibly athletic for such a tall girl, which is why she's getting all those offers, but has a low basketball IQ, and can't shoot at all. From Australia Syracuse should have tried to recruit Zoe Jackson, who is 6'4 with good defensive instincts, she's going to Indiana. There is a great 27 prospect, Keira Gardner from South Australia, who has handled Sitaya badly in the past, she'd be a great target as she's not at the COE so won't get the same level of interest but is a lot better at basketball. Same with Imogen Trout form Victoria who is bigger and a much better prospect as a Centre, not as athletic but stronger, a much better defender and can shoot.

Doesn't Trout have a sister that plays too?

She has an older sister that is committed to Portland and a younger sister. Both the sisters are tall but slighter build and more wing prospects. The youngest is supposed to be the best. She's more advanced skill wise, for her age, but Imogen is beastly strong. Gardner is the best big prospect in Australia though, in my opinion. The next big thing will be Maddy Ryan, she will have the high majors all over her for the class of 27. She's a better prospect than Fagan because she's the same size, athletic although not to the same level, but high IQ and decent outside shot. I could list 20 girls who are better than those already with P4 offers who would be gettable for Syracuse, Maddy Potts level and better.

The top colleges are lazy with their international recruiting. Both Florida and Washington have recruited Australian guards for 25, both of who are athletic but can't shoot, both from the COE. Neither will be as good at College as Potts I am certain. Wake Forest and Colorado have also recruited COE kids who I wouldn't recruit, I wouldn't have tried to recruit Monique Wiliams either. There are much better prospects over here, the recruiters just need to get on a plane and come and watch them. We just had the Australian u20 champs, where most of the 25 and 26 prospects played including those that are already committed. That was a lost opportunity.

Tiana Mangakahia is the best Aussie player that I have seen come to the States. syracuse seems to have a good reputation Down Under. Why are we missing lately on players? I loved Somfai, but so did everyone else. there has to be some players there that could help us. We need some Bigs!! The Aussies we have, all have the same skill set, great catch and shoot 3 point shooters, but lack the speed and athleticism to break down person to person defenders, dribble drive and create space for a mid range shot, and get out in transition basketball. Those are the skill sets that translate well in the american game.

Here are 3 guards from the 26 class who are quick and can score at 3 levels. All have played in the US in the last 12 months so must want to go to College:

Reby Perkins

Josie Agnew

Josie Agnew- Run4Roses 2024 highlights

Jasmine Perry

5'5 Point Guard - Class of '26 - Jasmine Perry - JULY AAU HIGHLIGHTS

Perkins has played on the National team so she will likely get a lot of interest. The other 2 are less exposed.

Do you know Coach Jack or anyone on the staff to share this info? Hope they are aware too.

I don't know anyone at Syracuse, just a fan since Tiana was there. I kind of liked the old coach too, even though I realise he left in not great circumstances. Perkins and Perry are represented by the same group that assisted Potts with her recruitment, ATC Academy. Agnew by a group called AUSA who place a lot of Australian kids. I have no idea how strong the relationships are with these groups, but Syracuse absolutely has a good reputation over here, all the Australian girls I know of have been very well treated and have flourished there, the college has a definite competitive advantage with our girls they just have to be a bit smarter using it.

Ruby Perkins just committed to Cal Berkley. I believe she did speak with Syracuse, although I'm not sure. The other two, who are lower rated over here but just as talented from what I have seen, are reported to each have received multiple offers, I know Agnew has an offer from Boston College. Either of these girls would be perfect for the school in my opinion. I hope Syracuse is looking at them. I'll post some 27 prospective recruits after the Australian u18 Champs later in the year.

What do you know of Jovana Ilic 6'4" 10th grader from Brisbane?

She's very talented but raw. Good size and seems to move well, can't shoot at all but a good passer. Definitely one to watch, especially if she grows a bit more or improves her shooting. She's not as highly rated as some others in that group and probably has as much upside as any, so someone the school should keep an eye on.
