The dynamic of our offense makes no sense given the personnel. We always recruited for the zone and suffered at times talent wise offensively. Now you take Buddy which obviously is very different by itself because although he lacks ACC type athleticism he's a catch and shoot guy with some size and has developed into a nice college player. You coupled that with Joe Girard though? If he was Buddys height maybe I'd see it but he doesn't make his teammates better, he's terrible defensively, and his handles are laughable for someone that NEEDS handles at his height and speed, he can find the corner at times after rare dribble penetration but I don't even know why teams bother to help, make him finish at the rim, he won't. Those two at the top of the zone goes against Syracuse Basketball defensive principles. Kadary obviously has nice vision but man oh man are we one dimensional, as teams get more tape you know Kadary wants to pass it, solid handles but definitely gets sped up at times, and then he settles for that 3 late when he hasn't shot much? The main point here is what in the world are we identifying out there? I feel most of the our guys play with preset notions and don't feel the game out, for example when Quincy is in rhythm shooting and he decided to drive instead of the wide open corner 3 and he stepped on the line, and if he didn't he was going straight to the bucket which is obviously great in most situations but say the defense rotates well he's either drawing a foul or looking silly and starting a break the other way. I love his development but I just use it to present the point we are very predictable within the teams individual skill sets and when each individuals primary skill set isn't working they aren't providing much to the team. It's fine to have a few guys like this, every team has them but when there are multiple evident problems with each starter that doesn't bode well. I find it insane we haven't had an anchor in the middle of that zone in quite some time.
