Hopefully Red can figure it out.
I thought the lineup that they ran with George, Kiyan, Betsey/Kingz(?), Freeman, and White looked the best in my opinion.Sadiq, Donnie, and George need a ton of minutes. These 3 are irreplaceable
I understand the enthusiasm for Saddiq. His energy and athleticism were off the charts. But let’s pump the brakes a little on his perimeter game. His 2 3s looked great, but his hs career showed something quite different. While guys should improve as they get older, I’m not ready to declare him a perimeter threat based on such a small sample.
He epitomizes winning - does so many positive things that even when he's not scoring, he's impacting the game. Love the dude. My favorite cuse player by a mile.
Completely agree! He plays so hard, motor never stops. And he's the most explosive athlete we've had in quite some time. I understand it's "only" Pace, but he dominated with his athleticism and played hard every second he was on the floor. Give me guys that put it all on the line and give unmatched effort, any day of the week. I also think William Kyle works his butt off. Hopefully others can match their level of effort & intensity.
Yeah, Souare stood out to me late in the game as well. Nice to see. The thing that concerns me a little tho is whether Red will be able to "mix and match" effectively.Souare is another energy guy. Liked his effort late.
We've got some nice pieces in the 3.5-4.5 range, but neither of Sadiq or Donnie is really a 3, and none of them is really a 5. So we're gonna have to mix and match depending on the opponent.
and looks so far like Souare (and Sadiq) gives the best rim protectionYeah, Souare stood out to me late in the game as well. Nice to see. The thing that concerns me a little tho is whether Red will be able to "mix and match" effectively.
Is that really true? Just asking, because I wasn’t able to watch the game but we were outrebounded by a DII team and Kyle and Souare combined for a measly 4 boards.Right now, our bigs are playing better than our guards/wings.
Donnies biggest weakness might be his insanely horrible instincts as a rim protector. The amount of shots guys get off in the lane with him standing right there is disturbing. It does not matter if it is a center or a tiny unathletic guard, he ain't blocking the shot. His timing is always at least one beat late. Would not trust him at all at the 5 on defense. Even White would be better there despite being a little smaller.Souare is another energy guy. Liked his effort late.

Nice pump lolNext Carmelo Anthony.
In addition to playing hard and the obvious athleticism, I also love how vocal he is. I saw him talking from the bench throughout the game, in time outs and at one point during an OB play when the other players were walking to get into their spots and the mic picked up White yelling at them to "stop ef**ing walking". To see and hear a freshman taking that leadership role and getting on his teammates is invaluable, especially if the coaches aren't.Completely agree! He plays so hard, motor never stops. I just posted about this in another thread. I think we can play that line-up some, but I don't think we can play that lineup a lot against P4's with legit, solid big Centers. Sadiq is 195 lbs. Against Pace it won't effect us defensively all that much, but it will be different against our peers.I thought the lineup that they ran with George, Kiyan, Betsey/Kingz(?), Freeman, and White looked the best in my opinion.
Sadiq is an absolute talent. He and Freeman both have enough size and athleticism to play a 5-type role to have both on the floor.
I screamed at him from my seat like 8 different times last night for not challenging Pace layups. It was my major beef from last night. I'm firing Allen Griffin myself if these guys don't start protecting the rim.Donnies biggest weakness might be his insanely horrible instincts as a rim protector. What about Betsy and playing time?Great forward combo if Autry lets it happen.

I’ll grant you Donnie and White but beyond them?
