GMAC / Blackwell / AO to Siena

So salary/NIL still need finalizing.

Is it like Siena offering 275k and Gerry asking 750k?

Or they have the numbers but trying to decide if the pay will be monthly or biweekly and whether will be Zelle or PayPal? How long can Gerry take off for fishing trips?

Wouldn’t surprise me if both parties agree to wait till after the women’s tournament in Albany. No rush needed to satisfy the bloggers. With the fan base at Siena, Gmac could be the best thing to happen to the Capital District and build this program to a new level.

Canisius swoop... imagine if the announce Gerry as HC tomorrow...

That would be some negotiating, finalizing, and approving right there...

Mike Deane. Paul Hewitt, Louis Orr, Fran McCaffrey all went from Siena to bigger jobs. Can anyone think of a single coach from Canisius that moved up?
I know you are kidding but Siena is the place for Gerry.

Gerry needs to careful, you don't take your first job as a Head Coach if you are set up for failure.
Look at What happened with Hop.

Hop was Pac-12 Coach of the Year in both of his first two seasons.
That's hardly being set up for failure. Problem was that he lost his PG in season 3 and never replaced him.

Who does Siena compete with for NIL? Would a high-major talent take a modest deal from Siena over a smaller (or no) bag from a power conference? What kind of numbers are we dealing with? Low 5 figures? Mid 5? Can’t be 6, right?

One example. After last season, Siena's point guard, Javian McCollum, left Siena for Oklahoma. He was talented but imo not dominant at that level. I heard, from reliable source, he got 220K NIL from Oklahoma. Siena ($50K - 60K?) couldn't come close to matching that. They were simply outbid. During the years when Siena was good, their roster was constantly filled with veteran skilled 3rd and 4th year players. That era is over.
