Gonzaga throwing up 102 vs Kansas.

Excited to watch Gonzaga choke in the tourney again this year. Such a rich history of choking that deserves more chapters.

I think it’s more a product of not getting to play top level competition down the stretch of the season and then having to win six games in a row five of which are probably harder than anything they’ve played in months. Even from a coaching standpoint in conference they are rarely playing teams that are forcing them to adjust. Mostly because those teams don’t have the size and athleticism to do so.

They have been playing according to seed in the last 6 years.

All true. What really annoys me is all the bracket experts saying “hey don’t count out gonzaga folks” when they get in as a 7 or 8 seed and basically just point to their record as a reason to be afraid. Then they just lose early (most of the time).

At least get the facts straight if you are going to be a hater.

They have made 3 Elite 8's and 1 Final the last 5 tournaments... but sure they just lose early.
Those "7 and 8 seeds"... 3 top 2 seeds the last 5 years, and 4 top 4 seeds. Would have been 4 top 2 seeds in 6 years if they had played last year.

I agree that they do get hurt by playing lower competition in the regular season and that limits them. But it has not limited them much recently.

If the Pac-12 were smart and not idiotic they would make Gonzaga and one of BYU/St. Mary’s basketball only members.
It would help that conference more than hurt it.

Gonzaga as the 12th member of the Big East as well.

Let teams play Creighton and Gonzaga as a pair of road games.

Gonzaga’s league makes people not give them the respect they deserve. It didn’t hurt UNLV in the early 1990s.

Glad we can enjoy some hoops because I can’t see how anyone gets a full season in

Just joking around dude! Not a hater. My main memory of Gonzaga is all the pundits counting us out in 2016 saying that they were a nightmare 11 seed for us to face and then we beat those fools despite the refs best efforts.

People were not giving a #10 seeded Syracuse team a walk-over against an #11 seed. Stunning.

The seriousness with which you are engaging this is shocking. I thought playful jabs at non cuse teams was normal behavior. Guess not. Good luck to your bulldogs this season.

putting aside their performance I just don’t get hatred toward Gonzaga. We’re 2-0 against them in the tournament and Few seems to be a not terrible person. I do have some PTSD from Adam Morrison’s facial hair from fifteen years ago so that’s something g.

Keep moving the goalposts

Doesn’t this mean the whole team is in contact and needs to be quarantined? I’m confused about the rules of this thing. It will be very interesting to see if different teams apply it differently

My Adam Morrison PTSD was triggered by that Wiltjer guy in 2016. Looked like Morrison but with actual range. Scary stuff.

Gonzaga was really underseeded that year. The consensus going into that game was it was pretty much a toss up.

You prefer rock fights to free-flowing offense? You're dead to me
Sorry it had to end this way :p I perfer a good defensive game over a good offensive game.

Good defense is fun to watch, but most low-scoring games I have seen recently are due to offensive ineptness. UVA often plays great D, but their grinder style of play makes it hard for me to enjoy it even when they are facing good offensive teams.

Was mainly referring to articles like this one which were later compiled in that hilarious “apology letter” that Nunes Magician did. Granted they aren’t completely counting out SU or anything but the orange goggles have a way of distorting things.

That's one person. Gonzaga was really underseeeded. They beat Seton Hall who just won the bet by 20 and Utah by like 25. I can't blame people for being hugh on them but I seem to remember alot of people thinking our zone would give them fits.

Random question not related to the majority of the posts on this thread...

How does a kid like Jalen Suggs, from Minnesota, end up at Gonzaga?

And how do people on this board continue to say our recruiting is not down? Suggs was a top 5 kid in this class. Gonzaga got him.

Benny Williams is very good. But we haven't had a Top 10 recruit play at SU in how long?
