Maybe I misread this but I thought the point was that despite versatile tight ends but lacking a consistent running game and powerful line that their tight ends can't stretch the field like they used to.

their best tight ends are in the nfl now (fleener and ertz) if you have big fast guys like that, sure, they're probably faster than our receivers, go tight ends go.

but i think guys like that are rare. and i'd rather have 4 avg receivers than two avg tight ends
