I'm not sure everyone shared your confidence "we were supposed to win". MSU was supposed to win. RPI means nothing when is team is playing well. This team making it to the Sweet 16 is a HUGE accomplishment. Saying the Orange was supposed to win seems to me like you are saying it was not a big accomplishment.

It can be a huge accomplishment without it being a landmark win. It wasn't, it was a game we should have won and we did win, I'm not sure where you got lost in the translation. Since when did Syracuse "not supposed to win" against a team like MTSU? You care so much about their MSU win but want to ignore their garbage schedule and lack of wins during the year.

Regardless, making the Sweet 16 with this team is HUGE for the program. It puts us in the national conversation, helps the Orange brand, and helps with recruiting. If you are troll, suck it! If you are not troll, GO ORANGE!!!

Flipping radio channels this am and heard someone talking about a rumor the Ok State might be interested in Gottlieb as coach -- he is "revered" in Stillwater (if that is the case it doesn't speak volumes for the folks of Stillwater). PLEASE make it so!!! 1) It will get him off the airwaves & 2) that douchenozzle would have a record for all to see how little he knows.

I don't care if it was a commercial break or whatever, he still felt the need to tweet about Syracuse instead of focusing on his work. That's some deep, deep saltiness.

He would have to be the biggest idiot on earth to leave his current position for a HC job. Just like you said - in coaching you actually have to perform and there are ways to measure that performance. What he is doing now has no accountability whatsoever. Foot loose and fancy free. Imagine a job where at least half of it is trolling people and the number one attribute you need is arrogance. Sure, you may be on your deathbed one day recounting a life that contributed zero-point-zero to anything or anyone, but I don't think people like Gottlieb are exactly wired that way to consider that.

I do feel a kinda twisted amusement in the fact he has a lifelong obsession with dissing SU & JB because he felt dissed by JB in his pre-college years. I especially enjoyed the SU win over OK State, on the way to the Big 10 crown, in winning the NC in 2003. Talk is cheap and requires no accomplishment or wisdom. JB and the team have made their statements on the floor with no change in his "analysis". Many of us expected to be left out of the tournament and now feel elated and proud that the team is part of the 25% of the tournament field remaining. The Sweet 16 is a significant accomplishment. Gottlieb will never have a rational view of SU and probably other programs as well. I did see a "Bring Doug Home" video but thought it was a sarcastic video from an SU fan. If it's a real thing, where can we sign the petition?

Of course he would take the job! There is the matter of significantly increasing his compensation for a year or two before they fire him. Plus it is Oklahoma State...are there really any expectations to win associated with that job? He could then crawl back to tv and he would probably force every member of the set to call him "Coach Gottlieb", even when they are not on air. I am imagining a non-funny version of Jackie Moon...or maybe Gottlieb is funny? (in a sarcastic laugh at that type of funny, only Gottlieb doesn't understand why people keep laughing at him).

The only 2 annalists I pay attention to are Jay Billas and Seth Greenberg, they are fantastic! Jay Williams is growing on me, especially after that twitter rebuttal against Dougie G.

Gottlieb was doing in game commentary this week and he was terrible. I don't really follow him so I have no idea about his bias against Syracuse. As a neutral fan, he was very difficult to listen to. He also got in a minor on-air spat with his broadcast partner. Some weird dig about talking about NJ hometowns too much. He has no future in broadcasting live games. He might as well try coaching in Backwater, Oklahoma.

Doug would say that Wisconsin deserved the seed because they had a great road win against Syracuse. Then he would turn around and say Syracuse is no good when it comes to us getting a bid.

He also said that Monmouth beating Gtown was a great win, and it wasn't their fault that Gtown tanked, and said it was a bad loss for us.

I actually take it as positive when Gottlieb or any of the other haters mention the Orange...they usually hate when Cuse is successful...

I hope he hates on the team after Gonzaga...would mean Cuse won the game...
