Not once in my posts have I said anything about hating UConn. I really couldn't care less about UConn. As for the Big East, my disdain is a direct result of its mismanagement and the consequences from forcing itself to raid the mid-major ranks of Conference USA to put a bandaid on its incompetence. Old habits die hard for a lot of people here who have grown up on Big East basketball, but this is a shadow of the Big East's former self. Louisville, Cincinnati, DePaul, Marquette, South Florida, and now SMU, Houston, Central Florida, Memphis. The Big East is now ConferenceUSA with some remnants of the original members. On the football side, which make no mistake drives the bus, it's down to the only original members are Rutgers and Temple. And outside of that it's ConferenceUSA and the Mountain West. The Big East, through it's own incompetence is an unstable mess, a conglomerate of mid-majors assimilated to keep it in business. This is why we're abandoning ship with Pitt, WVU ran for the door, and UConn and Rutgers have been openly campaigning for a spot in the ACC. We're moving to a stable conference that provides greater financial benefits and schools that play in the same time zone, up and down the Atlantic coast, all while the Big East left-behinds will fester playing games across the continent between teams have been banded together by duct tape. Will people miss the tradition of the Big East Tournament at MSG and playing games against teams we have for 30 years, yes. The great traditions like playing at MSG, playing Georgetown, will carry on. But this isn't the Big East that we built anymore. So screw the Big East, we've asked for a divorce, all we're waiting on is for us to be able to move out. And if UConn had the chance, you'd leave too. But you don't, so cling to the Big East, going forward, it's all you have.
