So Grantland is doing something a little different today: Bill Simmons, at his house and with assorted Grantland (and ESPN) personalities including Jalen Rose, are going to be doing basically a live version of his BS podcast at various points during the day talking about March Madness. It should be interesting, and hopefully entertaining.

YES YES YES. If you get the chance to read some of the previous ones Bill used to do with his college buddies, they're hilarious.

The difference here is that they are broadcasting live, like they are on a studio show...only they'll be in his back yard just shooting the for the most part.

They're live, literally just sitting around in Bill Simmons' house. And we've already discovered that Jalen Rose didn't tell his bosses in Bristol that he was doing this and would be unable to take part in his usual gigs on ESPN.

And they will be drinking throughout the day, apparently.

How long until Jalen breaks something with that bat?

I wish these guys would get together and have a late night sports drinking show.

Bring in a rotating guy or two and let em get loaded and talk sports.

I have a feeling that, if they really do start throwing back beers, Jalen Rose is going to be worth watching this by himself.

"He look like Sen Dog from Cypress Hill"

Ok, I'm all in.

I understand the fact that these guys don't want to be on camera nonstop all day, but man, I wish they'd at least keep the audio going. Love the running commentary, and they weren't even talking about the actual games. Who wouldn't want the uncensored commentary from Jalen Rose watching basketball?

Jalen told a story about he was on a 10 hour Dice bender and won a Honda Accord his sophomore year in college.

Someone give this guy his own show. Right now.

My wife would kill me if I tried to have that couch in our house lol

Jalen's former teammates must love the fact that he spills every bit of information that ever happened behind the scenes.

whether written, podded, live or taped, a Bill Simmons running diary hasn't been "something different" in at least a decade

one.trick.pony.

Well this is disappointing. One of the producers just said emphatically "absolutely not" when they asked if they could drink alcohol during the broadcast.

I like Jalen's stories but they haven't mentioned the ncaa games once this entire thing. Not even one mention of Valpo's last minute cover either.

I know Rembert
Rembert seems likable enough, but he definitely comes across as a guy who's trying too hard.

You know, like the kind of guy who would wear an ironic tux with a fraternity hat on grantland live.

I got you covered. I just dropped that on the Facebook page and Simmons, in turn, just totally name dropped me on the broadcast.

Are you name dropping yourself?
