Greatest team sport ever but article is spot on. I know how I feel after playing my whole life and 4 years in college, can't imagine what these guys deal with. Between this and tim green it makes me feel lucky the pro thing didn't work out. If I had a kid think I'd discourage playing the sport until even more safety modifications/rule changes are made.

All for any changes they make to reduce the chances of injury and happy to see the equipment improvements being made. Love the sport, will continue to love the sport but man these articles bring home the realities of the toughness inherent in it.

I can only imagine the pain and stuff u guys deal with. I know a ton of people including my best friends mom who had ALS and I’m fairly sure she didn’t play football. I know Tim must have knee ankle and maybe some brain issues but football I don’t think causes als. I had my kid play and my grandkids will play. No better to teach team and working with another individual or many individuals as football. I had a few concussions in hs and 1 wrestling in college and I knew that stuff would or could happen. I love the sport too much and without it I woulda been into trouble.
