great show on BTN talking about OC stuff

Im listening to BTN and they are talking about this weekends games. One of the guys on the show was the play by play guy on the game. He and the other two guys talked about NW OC. They said that "plays are plays" The key to being a good OC is execution and knowing what your players can do what they are capable of and putting them in positions that take advantage of their strenghts. Hope that McDonald is watching

you mean things like blocking air and dropping passes dont matter as long as you call the right plays? i would wonder if you asked the SU D staff how many of the great NW play calls were really just total brain farts by the DB's?

As I said In another thread, I don't think this a strength of gmac yet. I can think of 5 plays that we ran to the wrong personnel ( 2 deep passes to broyld, swing pass to smith, long pass to west, gulley of tackle on 3rd and 2. I'm sure there are more. I hope he simplifies the offense and improves in this area. This is not an easy task, you must be very prepared and very quick on your feet. Hope he's got the right stuff.
