Great Whitlock article on Te'o fiasco, ND, NCAA, et al

This is pretty crazy, and of course amazingly greedy:

"ESPN/ABC heard before the BCS championship that Kekua was a fake. When did Thamel, Wojciechowski and Hansen hear?"

Like we needed more proof that ESPN and ND have sold their sports souls.

Sigh.

For you marketers/advertisers/frequent fliers/others who just like a laugh

From the makers of the MILF (multi-island, low fare sale), Eye of the Tiger Sale (after Tiger's domestic dispute with his ex-wife), We Believe in Offshore Drilling (when gas prices were rising, insinuating something else, and other advertising campaigns, Spirit Airlines has gotten in on the Te'o hoax to bringing you the latest deal:

mainmanti.jpg

"There's no hoax here ... Spirit's fare REALLY are low,
"So, if your girlfriend is around (and real), plan that trip that you've been talking about without paying too much for it. And tell those high fares to RIP!,"

You can visit spiritair.com to see the full ad. It will probably only be there until the end of the day.

the Catfish references the documentary of a kid who falls for an internet hoax girlfriend

It's worthwhile to check out the other advertising campaigns I mentioned before.

Best part about this whole story is that snake Thamel running a story when he did the fact checking and couldn't even come up with this girl as ever attending Stanford. Anything for a story, right Pete?
