Greedy

Well, I get doubled whammied almost every weekend as a Browns fan too. :(

I’m a Rams fan so I had a good decade of getting double whammied. At least the Rams are good again. Still waiting patently for SU to stop beating themselves.

I was getting greedy. I thought we were a great team. We're not. We're a good team. You don't usually go from bad to great and skip what's between.

I think we have to win 2 of the next 4. UNC and Louisville are struggling teams and must wins in the Dome.

I saw what happened to Wake today, but by the time we play them, at Wake, I'm guessing it will be a flip of a coin. NC State is pretty good, but they're at the Dome.

I really don't have any faith in the last two. As awful as the D looked in the 4th quarter today, it's just going to get worse. We've seen it two years in a row and I don't see any sign that we won't wear down again. We're doing it in games, and it will compound. We just don't use enough players, especially at LB. I did see Lakiem in there for at least one snap, for whatever that's worth.

On offense, I don't know if I've seen Dungey have a worse game in all his time here. Nothing about the way he threw the ball today looked right. He had some Mahoney level throws. A lot of them.

There are positives of course. Pass rush is insane. I think the RBs looked pretty good. Taj Harris looks like he's going to be special. Loved the start of the game.

I'm not jumping off cliffs, but in Dino's time we've seen some head scratching defensive performances. Maybe it's just a product of college football today, but today was hard to watch.

Get a week off, regroup, take care of business against UNC and then we can still look forward to NC State. I think we're a 7 win team, and that's pretty good after a couple 4 win efforts. It will get us a 13th game, and the future still looks bright.

Boston College might as well wear leather helmets for the SU game. I doubt they throw the ball more than 10 times

Nice post...the Pitt loss stings with a lot to torment ourselves about. It's a good time for the bye week. I feel for Dungey. He's got incredible fire but teams focus on him and he seems kinda dinged up. He needs a break. I hope we find a way to slow opponents' run game. I had hoped the defensive line would stop more runners before they get into the linebackers, because they need help. We definitely have bright spots with Taj and Dungey connecting pretty well at one point. The future does look bright, but patience is a virtue I never cared much for...

Have two weeks to focus on how to at least improve on run defense. I have no idea what is going on with ED. In the scoring drives he threw the ball well, most of the game he was bad. There were several plays where he had all day to throw and ...nothing, were our receivers that well covered. When your QB has that bad a game its tough to put up a W against any P 5 ( except Rutgers)

I know there are some of you that can answer this for me...how many teams still on our schedule are run heavy? I know NC State isn't...they are pass first. If Dortch is injured that will limit Wake...and Wolford is gone. Louisville is a mess. Dillon at BC has an ankle injury with no news about how long he will be out.

One thing I can say about the two teams we should beat (UNC and Louisville) is that they have athletic QBs, who will no doubt try to expose what Pitt was able to do the other day. But we should be able to get enough stops and they shouldn't be able to stop us. UNC's QBs have been terrible passers. Louisville's QB is improving each day, but that defense is atrocious.

NC State ran for 225 and threw for 300 against BC. Although they only scored 28 points, so not sure what happened there. They will be a handful, but it's a big day at the Dome, so we'll compete. Just have to limit mistakes.

I think Wake should be a W too, they're having a rough year. But it's on the road and it's in November, both of which we'll need to prove ourselves first.

Where are the wins for UNC Football and Larry Fedora? - ACCSports.com

"Football Study Hall projects UNC to win only one more game this season — when the Heels host Western Carolina in mid-November. In five of North Carolina’s remaining six ACC games, Football Study Hall has UNC projected to lose by at least two touchdowns.

(In terms of cumulative wins, Football Study Hall has UNC pegged at 3.2.)

If this holds true, Larry Fedora and UNC could finish at 2-9. In over 100 seasons of football, North Carolina has just 12 seasons of two or fewer wins.

In terms of its catch-all team rating metric (S&P-plus), Football Study Hall had Fedora and UNC rated No. 53 before the season started. After the last month, North Carolina has experienced a quick backslide; currently, UNC ranks 90th nationally in terms of S&P-plus.

Team Rankings has UNC slotted as the No. 95 team in the FBS, and projects the Heels to win three games this season. Only three Power Five conference teams — Illinois (No. 107), Oregon State (No. 112) and Rutgers (No. 115) rank below North Carolina."
