Did Mike Greenberg obsess this much last year when we got hosed with the over and back call.
The majority of his show is about how UNCA got the screw job and how "lucky" syracuse was to win.
It's gotten completely obnoxious. I wonder if they called out of bounds to UNCA if he would be obsessing aobut how Syracuse got screwed b/c the foul wasn't called for knocking Triche to the ground.
I understand discussing it but for hours? Was the tournament that boring yesterday?

Was it a blown call? Sure.

It should have been Ashville's ball and Triche should have gone to the free throw line...the latter part is what the talking heads conveniently disregard.

Ashville should have been teed up when their player threw an elbow at Rak and got his own guy instead. Are they mentioning that? Of course not. Are they mentioning the clusterf--k that went on yesterday when the announcing crew replayed the lane violation over and over and came to the wrong conclusion every time. Of course not.

There has to be a story even if it means creating one where none exists...

Nothing about the Triche foul before halftime? They call the foul, in the act of shooting, with 1.7 seconds left and 1 second on the shot clock, but award no free throws.

I haven't seen a single journalist, or heard a single radio host/analyst even mention what is probably the worst goaltending call in the history of basketball. Apparently the only thing that counts are the last few minutes of the game.

I am still just amazed they both announcers (and no one in the truck or in studio) know the rule. This isn't the NBA, only the blocks can position for rebounds at release, all the other players including the FT shooter cannot cross the FT line extended until the ball hits rim.

Seriously, how did NO ONE know the rule? I mean, I am just some joe blow douche fan and I was like What are talking about Len? He's like 15 feet past being a lane violation.

And as Armory points out, they were GIVEN two points a goaltend (of course that offsets the other one they missed)

Unfortunately we let that be the case since it came down to the last few minutes. Now we have to worry that the calls will go against us in the last few minutes because the refs will be sensitive to the issue. And guess what, if that happens everyone will be saying tough since we got the calls in our favor against UNCA and didn't deserve to win that game.

If you don't want the national media to obsess about us than don't barely beat a 16 seed. There are a lot of things that these kids don't deserve like the BF and the drug stuff. That said if they play like absolute shite and the coach's game plan blows then they 100% deserve all the crap they get over it.

Exactly, and you guys need to get thicker skins. Its really not about UNCA or SU, its about a 16 seed (any 16 seed) giving the 1 seed (any 1 seed) all they can handle. 95% of the folks watching that game yesterday were a frothy rabid mess smelling the upset. When it didn't come out that way everyone wants to talk about how the 16 seed got screwed and should have won. Nobody really cares that there may have been some calls that went against the 1 seed to keep it close and that but for those calls the 16 seed may not have even been within spitting distance coming down the stretch.

You're listening to a national radio show that is in the business of giving the people what they want to hear. 95% of their national audience wants to hear about an upset and in the absence of that upset would prefer to spend the morning blaming someone for screwing them out of their upset. They'll move on when today's games get started.
