Greetings from snowy St Louis!

LGO! WAR DAMN OTTO!!!

Yes, it is Syracuse weather in St Louis today. Snowing and 36 degrees!

Thank goodness we did our sightseeing yesterday. Today we're going out to lunch at Broadway Oyster Bar with Obie9 and Headmaster (who fortunately have a car here -- the one they drove from Syracuse).

For a school that has a reputation for traveling well, our fan turnout here is a bit disappointing. Aside from Weber State and Pitt, we seem to have the smallest contingent of the eight schools. Dayton, Xavier, Wisconsin and Middle Tennessee fans are everywhere. Given the human predilection to root for the under-dog, I suspect most of the Wisconsin and Xavier fans in the arena tonight will be rooting for Middle Tennessee.

Based on how they played Friday, Middle Tennessee might be the best 15 seed in history. It will be a very though game today.
I have encourged some of the folks on the forum to visit the broadway oyster bar as I go there before, during and after cardinal games. usually have to call someone to pick me up, ha. Just curious how you liked it, although today wasn't a very good day for the full experience.

We went there today for lunch. It was awesome! Great food, service and music.

Nice job with the LGO cheer! We heard it on the TV!

I live near Chicago so I'll be going. If anyone is looking for company send me a PM.

So I was invited to sit with the Chancellor today. It was quite an honor, and actually I had a good time talking to him, his wife, and the other couple who was with us. Gross was at the women's game on Friday and today. He is still with his wife, as we discussed his in laws live in AZ. Also I have his old tennis partner in AZ and he is on my alumni board. So I talked to Daryl both days. Floyd is in Vegas, but coming back today. He has a home there, and was not at any of the games. I talked to Herm Frazier and his wife, they also have a home in AZ, and he was with Arizona State for years. See everyone has an AZ connection, lol. Jason Poles was the liaison here for both women's games, as far as vip guests and past women basketball players. Oh yea, another AZ connection. Roxie McNabb was at Friday's game. She drove down from the Toronto area with her daughter and nephew. They are there visiting her family for vacation, and then were going to Disney today. Everyone at the women's games were from Arizona unless they were from Syracuse, lol!! I did not see Gedney. Was he at the men's games? I am sure the attendance from fans and the athletic department will be much higher in Chicago. The SU national alumni board pres. lives in Chicago, and it is such an easy place to travel to. Will be trying to watch both the men and women in Toronto at someplace that is not all hockey

Mark Coyle, John Cunningham and Dave Wishert seem to be the school's only non-basketball staff people here in St Louis. Very few of the usual fans are here.
Joyce - I sat about 5 rows behind you (near AD Coyle) and wanted to come down to introduce myself but it never seemed like the right time. Brought my 12 yr. old son down with me from Illinois. Great win for our boys! Orange contingent seemed small but loud. Now I need to figure out how I can manage the schedule to get to Chicago (wouldn't be able to get there until Sunday - I'm a high school baseball coach - so we need to beat the Zags!) LGO!

Would have loved to go, but the $200+ per ticket made it impossible right now to go. Same for Chicago next week. Both places only 3-1/2 to 4 hour drive. With two kids in college at UNI (yes that UNI that just blew it :( )extra money is hard to come by! Next time...and there will be a next time!!!!
