Admittedly, Greg Marshall has never been my favorite coach. But the incident in Canada while playing McGill is over the top.

I think one reason he went nuts was because they had just lost to Carlton. But these are so-called "friendly" games.

The Wichita paper was the nicest coverage by far.

The game wasn't over. They came back and won after he was tossed. I don't like or dislike Marshall but one of his kids needed 3 stiches and got a concussion. How about holding the officials responsible. They really need to force officials to go in front of the press. They make coaches justify every split second decision they made and ask kids who are 18 why they did things. Refs need to be held more accountable and things like this won't happen.

Well said. I really like the idea of having the officials do post-game interviews. It would somewhat kevel the playing field. I also think it would empower some media to make timely criticisms while giving the refs a chance to defend themselves. But the real problem is the way ncaa (and nba) protects officials and presents officiating as if it is of non-consequence to the product. And most broadcasters would rather pander than criticize. I guess they probably "got the message" too.

It was a scrimmage, his lack of composure is disturbing.

Totally agree. No problem with him standing up for his team. But at a certain point, he needs to realize that he's made his point and he's going way over the line.

I do agree and I dislike the guy ever since he took to the media to belittle Syracuse when both of the teams were the only undefeateds a couple years ago. BUT, if you have players sustaining serious injuries in a meaningless scrimmage, the refs should be called out on allowing a game to get to that level. By the sounds of that article, the refs weren't doing enough to protect the players.

If it is a meaningless scrimmage, pull your players off of the floor rather than rant like a lunatic and try to intimidate the referees. Refuse to continue playing until they clean up the play. As we all know most of these things are subjective judgment calls and/or require that the referee actually see what happened in order to make a call. Sometimes they see it the way you do, sometimes not. Sometimes a player runs into another players elbow, hand, knee whatever...gets bloodied and picks up a foul to boot.

His reaction suggests that he felt it was more important to win the game then to do something to actually protect players that he thought were in danger of being injured. To me that sounds like an after the fact attempt by him to justify acting like an a$$ in a game that was meaningless.

loathe that doosh as much as I do Crean, Dixon, et al
As much as Crean and Dixon. Wow that is quite a statement. Are you saying that just for shock value or are you serious. I don't think I hate any coach as much as Crean and Dixon.

shock value? no, the guy's just a king-size doosh - perhaps not quite as demonstrative during games as those two but still terrible
