Greg Robinson Recruiting

not just filled a space on the field -but did something that made you say-man he could be great

the comments about being a clown are personal attacks and are not permitted-

Let's revisit the exact post.

That is flat out, unmitigated BS. You want to back up this clown and his constant garbage crap, be my guest.

k. Lyn, D. Davis, Cam Lynch, S. Thomas, Bromley, Crume, Goggins, Tiller, Krautman, Redish, Desir, Wilkes, etc etc and I've missed some

I'll ignore Pugh and Lemon as someone is going to pipe in and say Grob Kids

And I didn't even call you a clown...

You are letting the "I hate Marrone" Glasses you are wearing cloud your thinking...

again where is the offense?

and the d guys are just bodies-no nfl types-

i dont hate marrone-

he just lost his free pass because of his teams meltdown

He hasn't had any WRs. That is all. But why do D players not count again?

Who gives a flying about NFL types? We are not a FB factory and never will be. WV has been the most successful BE team the last 6 years and they barely put guys on NFL rosters. RU does a much better job of getting guys to the NFL. Where has it gotten them?

oops i forgot about macky on offense and all he did for it-

it was major fun watching him get blown by

What free pass?

Year 3 is done...

Year 4 has to be about positive results.

See I place a lot of blame on Robinson for the UM job simply because the defense had such terrible technique across the board. If you watched there spring practices the defense was walking through drills the whole time going over leverage and hand placement. Those things have nothing to do with the 3-3-5 that's flat out bad coaching my friend.

you think the whole 2 hour practice was hand placement every day? or was it part of a practice one day?

It was when ESPNU has the spring practices on for certain Universities (it was a one day segment) I watched the Michigan one and it was really a back to the chalk board hand placement, technique, wrapping up, and defensive assignments the entire time. I heard Madison asked about it at the end and his quote was these guys just have no idea about technique and fundamentals. It was by far the most boring thing I had ever watched. Defensive Linemen where practicing shucking blocks with blocking pads using hand placement correctly depending what gap responsibility you had, Linebackers where working on wrapping up and doing reading drills, the corner back drills the whole time went over run support not once did the do 1 on 1’s. Looking back at it now it makes total sense. He knew that he had to break there bad habits by going back to basic teaching of football 101. I am sure other days they did more elaborate things but it was noticeable that the defense had just flat out awful technique and it had to be fixed asap. That's my main reason why I question Robinson’s job at Michigan. To me there is no way that the entire team should have been that bad in simple things you are taught at the pee wee level.
In fairness to Robinson did some of the things that doomed him at Michigan have to do with scheme and youth? Absolutely however not wrapping up and not playing with any energy comes from bad coaching in my opinion. I have been wrong before on many things so I am sure a lot of people might disagree with my assessment with that said however I have never seen a worse defensive unit in football except for the Lions when they allowed 1,033 points over the 19 game losing streak.

Eh, every coach says that stuff because many have their own way of teaching things. We ere horrible this year tackling, absolutely horrible. Does that means Shafer is useless? Michigan's problem on defense was having about 25 scholie players on defense, a lot of young kids, having to use 10 or more freshman and walk-ons and playing a 3-3-5 defense that doesn't translate to Big10 football. Some of that also got Shafer fired too at Michigan. People love him here.

True but I also feel the jump that the defense made overall speaks volumes of the job that Madison did compared to Robinson.

Absolutely on Madison (isn't it Mattison?). He is one of the best in the business and just came from the Ravens, one of the top defensive teams in the NFL. He would be an upgrade at 99% of the schools including SU. He also had a year older group and finally an influx in some talent (though true frosh). Also, he got Woolfolk back who was their best defender 2 years ago but injured all of last year. So yea, he did a great job and I don't think anyone was surprised by it. I'm sure Michigan paid HUGE bucks to get him too. Something we can't afford.

Yeah brain fart on my part with the spelling. Your correct we can't afford a guy like that but one can always dream.
