Unless this program has a mega donor funding this it will really hurt their program.

Marshall’s replacement will be cheap and they have to hope can produce.
Marshall always had an arrogance to him and bully coaches can’t work nowadays.

Not really. Marshall was making $3.5 million which made him the 13th highest paid coach in college basketball. The buyout is $7.75 million, but spread over 6 years, so $1.3 million per year. So, they could still pay a coach $2.2 million per year and keep the cost the same.

There is no one smoking gun that points to the stupidity, the misplaced priorities or the appalling institutional defense of the NCAA's broken system. Gregg Marshall is just the latest case of how absurd it is.
