We will see soon enough. I'm not sure I know what you mean by 3/D player, but I think you are underestimating NBA 2 skill sets. Harden, Thompson, Butler, DeRozan, Beal, Oladipo, Wade are the prototypes; but most of the other 2s do a lot more than "just rip kickoputs."

yea, Thompson is the prototype to me, and he is both an elite shooter, and has a slash to the basket game too, although his handle is average as you might expect from someone not asked to shoulder the ball control. But he butters his bread by shooting a high rate of 3s I can't see G achieving. I know Gs Sr year numbers look good, but those FTs...

There's definitely some prototypes and great 2g but I don't think G is ever going to be a superstar. I just think he could be a rotational player in the NBA.

3&D is what you have to be if you're not a star. Play defense and hit open threes. That's a hugely important role for Championship caliber teams.

Man without a position and needs to play very good man (on ball and help) D.

Love Syracuse, but playing out of position and playing zone and being a fifth year does not lend itself to preparing yourself for the NBA very well.

Hope I'm wrong. Hope he gets drafted by a good org and they can find a spot for him as the 8th or 9th guy as a guard that can do a little bit of everything.

Danny Green might be the best comparison, and you see Pop pull him from games after 90 seconds sometimes, because his motor and decision making has been a question. But I think JJ and Kyle are different in that they are elite shooters, and G is not in that category. He could catch on, but he won't put up nearly the numbers of these guys.
G's dopne a tremendous job developing his jump shot. Once you get into the League, you're all life is dedicated to developing your game -- no classes, no homework, etc. G has deep range and I think could develop into a very consistent shooter at the NBA level; especially considering he won't the opposing teams primary concern.

I'm certainly hopeful of that trajectory myself, if the variables all line up in his favor, then he might be able to stick.
