We don't get those players because we play Georgetown. We get those players because Georgetown sucks and we are a better place to play college basketball by every conceivable measure. Why up their profile by playing them?

You don't think Carmelo, CJ Fair, Sherman Douglas, Jerami Grant, Donte Greene etc. liked having a chance to play near their families?

Nope. Come on, one game (maybe) in their home town for the big time players? Nah.

It doesn't mean anything to them in comparison to about 10 other factors that are involved in picking a school.

I can't for the life of me comprehend why any Syracuse fan would NOT want to continue to play Georgetown. Are 35K crowds in the Dome or Orange fans taking over the Verizon Center not entertaining to you guys? I want to play them every season for the rest of my life.

If you don't want to play and beat your hated historical rival, what's the point of even liking sports?

Is life really worth living without them?
We MUST keep hate alive.

We have to play them in the Dome because THEIR HOME ARENA HAS NO NETS!!!!!

You bet. They like playing for their homies.

I think TV wants to see SU-G'Town continue. The only rivalries that continue to outrate those games consistently are Duke-UNC, UL-UK, and a BiG match-up when they have two Top 10 teams playing each other amongst OSU, Michigan, Indiana, and Michigan State.

Cheers,
Neil

I wouldn't mind playing them if they were good enough sports to allow our fans into their Arena. Unfortunately, since that was not the case, let them sit on that final loss to the Cuse for a couple of years --- then we'll see if Lee Reed has the stones and sportsmanship to end the "Gray-Out".

Until then, we'll play teams that aren't afraid of our fans.

I would believe that SU's thinking is that they wouldn't need to play Gtown with them playing at Maryland next year. I would guess when Maryland leaves then SU would contact Gtown about a series.

You may be right, it seams like they caught an attitude when we beat them 2 seasons ago.
In that case they're really gonna hate us as they've got a lot more beatdowns coming their way in the coming years. To us, it'll be like playing Cincinnati--a decent program that is way down the list in terms of being a hated rival.
