Happy Merry Portal Day!

Spend on the QB and both lines that will be Syracuse key to success. Sprinkle in a few position players and go with it. If we have a top shelf QB and dominate lines we will win.
Agree 100% on this. If you watched Miami and Indiana this weekend, you saw teams that could pressure the QB without blitzing and run the ball behind a strong O-line.

Saban goes on and on about how great Miami's OL is.

The key to SU's 2026 season is the OL.

If they mature and improve like everyone expects, it'll create continuity on offense. They can keep Steve upright and create space for the new skill position guys to settle in. Most important unit by far.

The DL is also key. We need to be able to pressure the QB with 4

So far, the names coming to visit are not inspiring. I don't think we can afford a dline like Texas Tech.

Yep, the key in today’s game, both NFL and college, is pressuring the QB without selling out and having to go single coverage.
I think, right now, it really is that "simple" (getting the pieces and coaching to execute is anything but!).

Beyond the door, what lies in store? A world of light, or darkness more?

My lack of care is extremely high. Probably will look at who we have on August 25th. And I won’t recognize most of the names.

The good news this year is that what we'll have in spring is what we'll have come August thanks to only one portal season.

The only exceptions will be:

1. Offseason injuries (Angeli for sure, maybe Perry, any others?).
2. Any true freshmen who didn't enroll early (and probably won't contribute much next season).

Makes spring ball more interesting than normal imo. Hopefully we don't have a vanilla spring game because we're afraid to let our secrets out. Just wastes a practice, skip the game altogether in that case.

We cannot, as far as I know. But Texas Tech should not be able to, either. I hope to God someone finds a way to stop this, through legislation if need be. Are those NIL deals really legitimate business arrangements? Really? Come on, auditors, show your teeth.

As far as outbound portaling goes, all I want to see Angeli, Samuel, AD and Perry stay. Not a big ask.

The Texas Tech oil guy funding their resurgence should take over the whole process. Guy gets it.

Maybe not good news. Under today's system, SU would not have been able to pick up Steve Angeli, to fix the Portal-1 mistakes.

I mean the good news for people who want to wait until August because of all the uncertainty.

But yes if these were last year's rules, we'd have Pena and Watson, but not Angeli. Which probably meant we only beat Colgate.

Need to schedule as many visits as possible this weekend and in the coming 2 weeks.

I see about 5 for this weekend (basically 1st visits), including that QB that we first heard about, and an edge from Las Vegas, a DT from Georgia State. We are also on some lists for good WRs, but no visit dates set yet that I've seen.
