What a strange, crazy year of SU college hoops it's been -- amidst the backdrop of an even more surreal series of events taking place in the world since the season began.
We've had fits and stops, due to COVID. We've had players test positive, and have to sit out. We've had games cancelled at the last minute. We had not just one but two periods where the program got temporarily shut down due to virus-related implications.
We had no preseason. We had players who weren't able to join the team until the last possible minute, and it was uncertain if they'd join at all. We had a crazy situation with a blue chip recruit. We had our starting center get injured 4 minutes into the season, and miss basically the entire year.
There have been some exciting highs, and some very disappointing lows.
Overall, I just can't wrap my head around the fact that the regular season ends later this afternoon. Strangest college hoops season I can ever remember.
