Hardwood Dinner Summary...

I posted something on the other board in a thread started by Cuseguy, and there is an audio in OrangeXtreme's long thread pinned at the top of that board.

In summary, there were close to 800 people at the dinner, the food was better than normal at such events, the crowd was very supportive of JB and the team, the silent auction had a lot of nice stuff about this year's team, and it was very successful. In accepting the Vic Hanson Award, Mike Hopkins was very emotional about his father, his career and JB. Rakeem gave a nice talk as the only senior scholarship player, and Sanderson, the only senior walk=on, also gave a nice talk. The standing ovation at the end of JB's closing remarks was loud and long and very heartfelt. The only other posters I saw there were Obie and Headmaster.

And, in the best news of the night, I did not get a traffic ticket at the end of the evening (as I did last year).

Well, there's something positive right there.

I'll have to ask my aunt and uncle for a recap. They go every year, I'm sure this year was no different.
