yep but this is gonna happen on occassion. They've more than done well and their fair share to say so far they're all "having a good year", especially when the others make up for it and track the guys down. Has there been a long td run on us this year?

Injury recovery is key. For a change we might be ok on the D line with KJ back. But safety is an issue. Without Carter we've been late helping in zone coverage and confused multiple times. Against this team that will cost us - their QB is deadly.

On offense, losing Taj will hurt us. Notwithstanding the controversy, he was our best receiver (#1 in catches in only 3 games), and brought value on deep shots and third downs (his speed earned him space). Do we have younger guys with talent? Yes, but they're green ... busting routes, getting walled and (apart from Jackson) lacking a confident connection to GS. Second, where in the blazes is Benson? Without him our TE passing game has been non-existent .. stripping us of an important offensive dimension. He has the size (6'4 - 240), speed and ability to gash WF. We need him back. I've also heard that Davis was limping, and Tisdale may be out. OL is obviously critical for the offense, so I'm hoping Davis' injury isn't serious and Vet can step it up.

One last item - the kicking game. The point is not to dump on a 3d-stringer (or me for raising the subject), but to make sure we make PAT's and protect field position. Williams is a critical factor here - we need all 3 phases functioning to have a puncher's chance against a top 20 team.

Lots of bad calls. Greenwood facemask was not one of them.

No that was Barron who missed that play. And then Simmons whiffed on the tackle after Barron's whiff. I was wondering where the front 6 were though. You can't have your linebackers MIA on that. #3 got sealed right, #7 got sealed left before Barron's whiff. That can't happen to the LB's though. Barron completely missed that play however.

Simmons wasn't even close to making a tackle. He has blown coverage and missed a number of tackles in the last 3 games. It seems every time the opposing team has a big play he is around.

Perfect example of a penalty being the "better play". Obviously no intent to injure, but at that point the penalty was meaningless considering what was already gained and the alternative of him scoring.

Yep , refs were right on top of it when we did something ! The call on Duce was correct but in being the pass was thrown 20 yards to far it could have been let go.

Yeah, the shame of that was:
a - Duce had safety help behind him, he didn't need to hold - wasn't gonna give up a TD if that catch is made.
b - ball was badly overthrown anyway, and his holding didn't impact it being uncatchable.
c - so, it still woulda been an INT had Duce let that guy go, rather than grabbing his jersey.

sigh.

All that said - he COMPLETELY REDEEMED HIMSELF with that absurd play for his INT!!!!

the QB threw it because of the hold, he saw it and helped draw the penalty
