I think Estime got him back real-time and he was giving him a shout out/props on twitter. I don't think it was a twitter prank.

I think it gives us a minute glimpse of the coaches and players really being a band of brothers as they are constantly harassing each other. My father had 4 older brothers and all the males in the family (uncles, nephews) are constantly are always busting chops. We are more like brothers than uncle/nephew. That being said, we were raised that you always show the older generation respect although you might have a tight relationship.
