Help me pick a longshot to win the Tourny

Georgetown is 300-1

LSU dropped from 1000-1 to 500-1 after last nights loss to Kentucky.

If Britt/Page stay even lukewarm from three then UNC is a great bet. Too many bodies.

OK, so I need to find a new routing interest for a substitute for obvious reasons.

I want to place a modest wager on a longshot. Here are some of the realistic options (25-1 or longer).

Kansas 25-1 (for some reason Kansas bores me)
Louis 30-1 (maybe after I watch them play us next week - just to root for AO's brother)
Nova 30-1
UNC 40-1
Ohio St 40-1
ND 50-1 (maybe just to root for Jerami's brother)
Utah 50-1 (no way)
Iowa St 65-1
Oak 65-1
Baylor 75-1
WV 80-1
Mich St 85-1
FL 100-1
SMU 100-1
SD State 100-1
Texas 100-1
Witchita St 100-1 (maybe just cause they are the Shockers)

There are some reasonable long shots on this list becuase the odds are so top heavy with Kentucky, Duke, Virginia and Wiscy.

Texas, UNC, Nova, and Lville are the only teams with a shot.

I posted about them before H but have seen them play before. They have maybe the best tandem in the country. Big and skilled frontline. They are probably a really good guard away from a serious run but wouldn't be surprised if they got to the Final 4. Same with Arkansas. They would be a tough matchup for anybody.

Definitely a long shot, but Ohio State seems like a team that could get hot at the right time with D'Angelo Russell leading the way.

True. I actually haven't really seen him or them play yet except for early in the season vs LOU but Russell has been getting tons of hype lately. People are saying he is the best guard in the country and he's been posting some awesome all around stat lines lately.

EDIT: 19.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 5.4, apg, 48% fg, 45% 3pt fg. That is freaking big time for a frosh in the Big 10.

Looking at those, UofL is probably the safest bet I'd go with right there with UNC (like somebody said, 40-1 isn't awful).

At this point I am leaning towards one of these:

Louis 30-1
Nova 30-1
Ohio St 40-1
ND 50-1

I really want to root for either Grant's or AO's brothers...I might just put $$$ on both.

Like others, Iowa State looks like the best value there. I think they have 1 or 2 seed talent, just haven't played to their potential yet.

I need to watch Iowa St play this weekend.

I like Iowa State also. They've been a little more inconsistent than I expected this year. But if they get rolling at the right time, I like their chances to beat most teams.

I would have said Ohio st, to be honest I am surprised they are 40-1. I think Russell could get hot and carry them in the tourney.

Nova could get hot and be very tough to beat.

I just put $20 on Iowa St. at 65-1. I thought the line might have moved after Iowa St beat WV yesterday...but it held at 65-1 so I figured it was time to pull to the trigger. This would be a $1,300 payout. Well worth the $20 bet as far as I'm concerned.

This bet was made 100% b/c of the reccomendations of this board. I never would have taken Iowa St.

I'm gonna bet one more team, I think. I was leaning towards Louisville, but their line dropped to 25-1 (Nova's dropped to 22-1). Maybe ND at 50-1...we'll see.

I know they are a 100-1 bet but take a look at SMU. They're on a hot streak, got a couple of really good bigs, a strong point guard and Larry Brown has been around the block.

So I'm feeling really good about Iowa St. right now, especially at 65-1.

Their draw isn't all that great though. SMU in the 2nd Rd with Gonzaga and Duke likely to follow. Gonna be a rough road to the FF, but at least Kentucky is on the other side of the bracket.

Pitt and UCONN! You were talking about the CBI correct?

This goes here now.
