The question I ask, when is the first day of the spring semester? I assume it is Tuesday, January 17th, the day after the Pitt game. If Dion is having any grade issues, he will be cleared to play until the first day of the spring semester. He could be appealing right now, etc. If Dion is playing once classes are in session, then he is fine, however until classes officially start, the question will be out there if he is eligible or not.

but wouldn't the staff know right now whether or not DW will be eligible on 1/17? and if they do know, and he is indeed ineligible, I just can't see them continuing to feature him as the go-to player on the court.

...and why are you even bringing this up..unless you know something to be true, knock it off! This plays with all our heads and creates nervousness that needs not be there unless something is true.

gilardino.. thats not completely accurate.. it depends on whether this hinged on the results of a final or if it was an issue prior to finals. if his eligibility was pulled previously he would have already missed time. if due to finals he would have missed time recently while appealing. like in most situations, if there was a problem.. i would presume this has been remedied via winter sessions, additional work etc. i remember first hand i would have had to reapply for fin aid before stepping foot back on campus and that included winter sessions.. luckily i was able to work something out before that became a reality.

Ok I just spent a while reading and here is what I know from the NCAA.

1.8 minimum GPA (serious, if Dion is below a 1.8 then that is really sad) for sophomores. If he didn't maintain that, he is ineligible for the following semester at the release of grades.

Therefore, since grades were released the 28th of Dec., and Dion has played several games since then, I am going to go ahead and say he has a >1.8 cumulative GPA and is eligible for the spring semester.

look i know nothing, but it makes me nervous as all he$$, i hope u all r right, cause damn it all, i want is a %^&%& title. my cowboys piss me off, and i want to win the whole thing and shove it n all the haters face!!!!!

uggh .. cowboys.. ive given up on them until jerry jones croaks or he hires jimmy back

this would seem to be the crux of it. if your research is valid (not doubting it is, mind you) then, yes, he would appear to be fine, since he has played since the release of grades.

This may not be relevant as it was 11 years ago, but I remember Marvin Minnis of FSU was ineligible for the 2001 Orange Bowl (Natl Championship) against Oklahoma because of grades. That game was early January before 2nd semester had started so he was ineligible once the grades were released. Here's to hoping the NCAA hasn't changed the rules

Between this and the scandal board, you need to relax. Just because you are nervous, doesn't make it alright to make others nervous.

This thread has a GPA of <1.8! Whoever started this should be ruled ineligible for the spring semester!

How is it okay to post trash like this without any proof? If it is proven correct I will be the first to apologize however until then OP shame on you

The peculiar thing is this: From what I understand Dion has a 4.0 going. What's the sweat?

You might think about getting an additional hobby, beyond SU hoops. Seriously.
