Here it is ... 2012 Schedules

Two Friday games is great for the idea that we should only play night games.

Look at the atmosphere for the WVU game last year.

Black Friday at the Linc. Hopefully this will turn out better than our last visit here in 2004 which was Black Saturday.

While the occasional Friday night game is nice (when there are 6-7 home games), having 2 of them when we only have 4 D1 home games seems to have really boned the out of towners. It also makes for worse tailgating for locals.
Yup the season with no tailgating...sigh!
I guess Northwestern will be our best choice for our annual reunion tailgate.

I feel really bad for season ticket holders, 4 BCS opponents is a joke. As a Bills season ticket holder, I know how pissed I was when we only got 7 games at home. The only good thing is the price went down. The only game I am going to be able to make the trip from Buffalo is maybe Northwestern. Sucks.

either homecoming or parents weekend is getting stuck on a friday and the other is louisville.

this is really a shitty schedule.

Homecoming and Parents were both on Fridays in 2011, I believe.

Just think how you're going to feel when those home games are going to be in Toronto.

This is a much better outcome than I anticipated. 'Cuse is getting TV exposure and the Friday game against Temple is ice cream...smack in middle of T_G...going to have lots of athletic high schoolers watching...this is a good exposure schedule against some good competition...yes I rather be in ACC already; but we did not get screwed with this schedule--almost looks like a thank you from the BE for sticking around.

Bingo, one Friday game would have been fine but two is excessive when we have only four real home games, the BE really stuck it to us on the schedule.

Do you (as a local) prefer Friday night or Saturday Noon? Not a flame, just curious.

I'm an out of towner but Saturday noon games aren't nearly as fun as Friday or Saturday night. Also, we've performed very poorly in noon games of late.

Sorta but not really. The total cost of seasons went down but per game it went up. Also, for those of us who have preferred seating, that went up also. And SU wonders why the fan base is what it is. Their mentality is why you see so many empties between the 20's and the end zones more full. :noidea:

I know you asked Jeremy but as another local, I prefer Friday nights over Saturday at noon but prefer any of the other Saturday time slots over Friday nights. I hate Saturday noon.

Personally to me a Friday game at 8pm is definitely perferable to a Saturday at Noon. The problem is college football is still a Saturday mainstay and it feels odd when your playing more then one game a year on a different day then Saturday. If we had 6-7 home games I wouldnt care at all but with only four Div 1 games I would prefer only one Fri night game as it is more difficult to tailgate then say a Noon or a Mid afternoon Saturday start which I think would be best.

Will definitely have to be NW regardless of time.

Id say Stony Brook, probaby will be a later game 3:30 or so. I want to say automatic win to but after last years performance I dont know if that would be accurate.

Agreed on all fronts, and I feel for the local season ticket holders for how this years schedule played out. Due to work, family, and location (5 hours away) I haven't purchased season tickets since 09-10 but still managed to make 4 Dome games last year. Anymore than that is nearly impossible for me (even with season tickets) but if I was local I would want 6 or 7 home games as well.

Saturday 3:30pm >Saturday 8pm >/= Friday 8pm >>>>> Saturday Noon

If we never played another noon game I would be ecstatic.

The silver lining is, after this season, SU fans won't have to worry about being on by scheduling any longer.

Friday nights are also good for people who have kids in Pop Warner on Saturday.

I'll take the friday home games every time

Friday night games worked out well for me last year. It's easier to get the green light for 2 Friday night games, then two Saturday all weekend affairs. Not that I need the green light, but it would be nice to come home and find all my stuff inside the house.

Schedule is pretty much what we knew, no surprises.

2013, 2013, 2013... will be here soon enough. There was no choice this year but to suffer through it.

Yep, especially when your parents live in Philly, so I am loving this as well ! (although for me the "best part" would obviously have to be USC). And good thing I have these two to look forward to because as you mentioned in another post, the Dome schedule really blows for out-of-towners.

You also have at Rutgers on a Saturday in mid October.

This schedule is awful. Five home games, uninspiring conference slate, trips to OOC opponents where there is practically no alumni base... ugh.

Can't wait for 2013. This year is going to be intolerable if we aren't winning.

I noticed we didn't get the December game, which means:

1. One of two teams to only get one bye week.
2. We're predicted, with Temple, to be the worst two teams. And we get to play on rivalry week!

Oh you didn't read the fine print. Homecoming and parents weekend is going to be the USC game :rolling:

I still am baffled that the BE doesn't play 4 games in December. What is the point in doing so? Don't they want to help teams by giving them two bye weeks? Don't they want to help teams by providing more exposure? It makes no sense what so ever.

Actually we do get two bye weeks.

We're off the last week of the season, while the other 6 teams in the league have to play (Louisville at Rutgers Nov 29, Pitt at USF Dec 1, Cinci at UConn Dec 1).

We'll have one more week of rest heading into the bowl game. :p

Agree, no sense for a few reasons.

1. As you said, more exposure, and 2 weeks off might mean a better team.
2. The Big East isn't exactly good at predicting who the 2 worst teams will be.
3. If TV is only promising to show 3 games, let the other 2 teams be on their own to figure out a TV slot. Surprising they couldn't negotiate a 4th game somewhere, but I digress...

Dumb league, and soon to be (for the most part already is) in my rear view mirror.

The opener versus Northwestern will be on National TV week 1. Very few games of BCS vs. BCS on week 1 and they typically get on TV. Week 1 is typically cupcake central week. Last year Northwestern@Boston College on ESPNU week 1. I believe this game will be an ESPNU or ESPN2 game week 1. So we should have atleast 5 national TV games, and if we have a decent year and Mizzou is decent we could be on CBS or atleast have an ESPN primetime game in that Mizzou game.
