Here's a nug, UVA 14 Passing TD's allowed, 0 Ints.

And significant depth chart changes this week, only 1 or 2 in the Secondary though.

Here's one thing.

"Sophomore Jack English, Mooney’s backup, is expected to make his first career start against Syracuse. He’ll be joined by left guard Ross Burbank, Matteo, right guard Jay Whitmire and right tackle Eric Smith."

Matteo, the center, missed seven games last year with a broken foot, and this week is in a walking boot.

Essential that SU win the match up between the DL and OL.

You put that against a QB that is 9th in QB ranking, that has to be favorable.

On the flip side an unsettled OL, Soph LT in his first start, against Shafer's scheme, that has to be favorable.

Holy Blitz Brigade, Batman.

Would be good to see the D score this weekend.

We, of all fan's are licking our chops about a bad defense? May want to worry about our own.

#9 rated QB, offense struggling with the run, I'd hope PTR is looking at that.

You need to explain how that has anything to do with how SU's defense is playing.

Shafer deserves the benefit of the doubt regarding the defense based on past performance. If they have the players to get it squared away they will. If they don't it's purely a question strength and size on the two deep because of all the young players, and that's nothing that is going to change in the next couple of months.

on one hand, i give shafer the benefit of the doubt. what are you gonna do - sometimes you're going to have a hot mess on defense in college football.

but on the other hand, if there's nothing that even a good defensive coach like shafer can do about it, why spend on that money on a defensive head coach?
