on one hand, i give shafer the benefit of the doubt. what are you gonna do - sometimes you're going to have a hot mess on defense in college football.
but on the other hand, if there's nothing that even a good defensive coach like shafer can do about it, why spend on that money on a defensive head coach?
Because it's a one year aberration based on turnover on the two deep and putting a bunch of kids that haven't been in the strength and conditioning program for long on the field. It's not just one or two in total, it's multiple players at every level of the defense, that's why.
