Well, maybe 2 things.

Get rid of the freakin option. Just stop it. Reminds me of the coaching days of another head coach who was a defensive coordinator, and who eventually couldn't get it done: Pasqualoni. If you insist on running the stupid thing, use it sparingly. Like about as often as you would throw a tailback screen.

And number 2, Lester is like "we can't throw the pass if the defense is in zone. We need to run a team out of the zone, and if they are stopping the run while playing zone defense our offense is in trouble." Really? Seriously? I would think an offensive coordinator would salivate at throwing the ball against zone coverage. Players find soft spots in the zone and sit in it and wait for the ball to be thrown to them. When other teams have better athletes at corner, why are you jones-ing for the team to play straight up man on you? What the? I don't get this.

Gotta get this off my chest.

Surprised you didn't any likes sooner!

Watching Dungey run the option so often reminds me of seeing Bill Hurley slammed to the ground vs. FSU and there went our season. Better have a backup groomed and ready at all times.

That canttbe a real quote.

No. The last part of the quote is what has actually been said multiple times: "if they are stopping the run while in zone defense then our offense is in trouble."

Then throw the d--- ball!!
