Well, maybe 2 things.
Get rid of the freakin option. Just stop it. Reminds me of the coaching days of another head coach who was a defensive coordinator, and who eventually couldn't get it done: Pasqualoni. If you insist on running the stupid thing, use it sparingly. Like about as often as you would throw a tailback screen.
And number 2, Lester is like "we can't throw the pass if the defense is in zone. We need to run a team out of the zone, and if they are stopping the run while playing zone defense our offense is in trouble." Really? Seriously? I would think an offensive coordinator would salivate at throwing the ball against zone coverage. Players find soft spots in the zone and sit in it and wait for the ball to be thrown to them. When other teams have better athletes at corner, why are you jones-ing for the team to play straight up man on you? What the? I don't get this.
