Does anybody have a complete list of tournaments and events that Syracuse has won over the years? I checked the great cuse hoops site but it surprisingly doesn't seem to have it. We may need to try to piece it together here, I know it is going to be a long list!

We have won:

1951- The National Campus Tournament, (an attempt to created a third post-season tournament to rival the NCAA and NIT. It didn't last long but we won it, creating a great trivia question: How many national post season tournaments have we won: two).
1956- The Round Robin Tournament in Boston.
1963- The Hurricane Classic in Miami. We had Dave Bing and beat Princeton with Bill Bradley 76-71 and Miami with Rick Barry 86-85 in overtime. Cassius Clay, (before he was Muhammed Ali), preparing for the first Liston fight, was in attendance and some of our players got to meet him and spend some time at his gym.
1975 ECAC Playoffs- a preliminary to the NCAAs that we had to win to get it, sort of a conference tournament for eastern independents. We wound up in the Final Four.
1976 ECAC Playoffs
1977 ECAC Playoffs
1977 Carrier Classic, (over Michigan State and Magic Johnson)
1977 Lobo Classic, (over New mexico whose fans stood and clapped until their team got it's first field goal- we brought the idea home to Syracuse)
1978 Carrier Classic
1979 Carrier Classic
1979 Rochester Classic
1981 Big East Tounrmanet, (on Leo Rautin's tip-in over Villanova in triple OT)
1982 Carrier Classic
1983 Carrier Classic
1984 Carrier Classic
1984 Rochester Classic
1985 Carrier Classic
1986 Carrier Classic
(In 1986, they were in Hawaii for the Hawaii-Loa Classic and beat Wichita State and Hawaii Loa but I don't think that was a tournament- they just played those two teams on successville nights. But that's another great trivia question- what's our record in Hawaii? 9-0 in three Maui Invitaitonals 2-1 in the 1995 Rainbow Classic and these two games = 13-1, with the only loss to Massachusetts when they were ranked #1.)
1987 Carrier Classic
1988 Big East Tournament
1988 Big Apple NIT
1988 Carrier Classic
1989 Carrier Classic
(It should be mentioned that we were 3-0 in the 1989-91 ACC-Big East challenges, beating Duke, NC. State and Florida State).
1990 Maui Classic, (as it was called then- over Bob Knight's Indiana team, 77-74)
1990 Carrier Classic
1991 Carrier Classic
1992 Big East Tournament
1992 Carrier Classic
1993 Carrier Classic
1994 Carrier Classic
1995 Carrier Classic
1997 Carrier Classic
1998 Maui Classic, (over Indiana again, 76-63)
1999 NABC Classic
1999 Carrier Classic
2000 Great Alaska Shootout
2000 Carrier Classic
2001 Preseason NIT
2003 NCAA Tournament, (anybody remember that one?)
2004 Coaches vs. Cancer Classic
2005 Big East Tournament
2006 Big East Tournament
2006 BCA Invitational
2008 O'Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic (That's when we beat Florida and Kansas in Kansas City)
2009 2K Sports Classic
(We also went 3-0 in the SEC-Big East Challenge in games played in 2009, 2011 and 2012)
2010 Legends Classic
(In 2010 we won the Jimmy V Classic over Michigan State but that was a single game in New York City)
2011 NIT Season Tip-Off
(We won the "Battle on the Midway in 2012 but that was a single game)
2013 Maui Invitational

All of this is in the Media Guide, which can be bought at the Dome or view though the link below. You just have to go through to make the list.

You're a legend

Followup question: if one shot had gone differently then Syracuse would have 3 national post season tourney titles & their opponent would have only 2. The opponent: ?

BTW, thanks for the great job combing through the media guide.

Cool list. Fun to look through. Wish there still was a Rochester classic...that one was a little before my time as a fan

Our next opponent.

Branch McCracken coached Indiana to NCAA titles in 1940 and 1953, both over Kansas. They have 5 of them. It should have been 4.

nevermind, found it. it was a tournament at the dome, we beat st francis, penn, and utep. im not surprised that i dont remember it, snooooooooooooooooze
