Based on my eye test he has struggled the last few games after being a real weapon at the beginning of the season so I looked up the stats.

First 7 games: 45.2 average
Last 4 games: 40.1 average

He averaged 48 against Clemson with some serious hang time which led to at least one fumble. Against Notre Dame it was only 38.

Not really sure what's happened but I hope he regains his form as that's an area that helped us immensely when the O was struggling.

Sometimes distance is not required. He’s had more opportunities to pin teams inside the 15.

He may have been less effective in the last few games, but the statistic you are using to show that doesn't work.

good point. Ill add from last week, colder weather (outdoors), and grass surface. Specialists are nit picky with that stuff.

As an aside to this, I think Hof is gone after this year. This is his third year out of high school, I think he is a junior or redshirt soph(can't remember which) and is eligible for the NFL. He also participated in the Senior Day ceremonies which tells us something. I think he is high on list of NFL prospects for punters. Dino has said all along that Hof is an NFL punter.

I thought I read it in SU athletics press release or in syracuse.com. I could very well be wrong and hope that I am. Hof is field changing weapon. Would love to see him back next year.

He was the special teams captain before the game. He didn’t walk with the seniors.

That said, he is in graduate school already I believe...
