Lots of handwringing when we got placed there. But I thought it was a great bowl game to be a part of for the players.

Looks like they had a blast. I thought there was a lot of pre game hype and night before activities. I thought the bowl put on a good show.

Good time slot. No risk of not being seen because game went long. Etc.

Good pay day.

Helps when you win too.

For the first time in a long time I tuned into SportsCenter this morning hoping to catch a recap. Watched for an hour - not a word about the Holiday Bowl. Not even a single TD included in the Top 10 plays. Aarrgghh!

the holiday bowl is always awesome, there were no complaints here. best bowl since chip chose The Banana Bungalow as the best hotel/motel/hostel/bathhouse option for his friends in 1998

I believe most of the gripes were related to:
1. preferring a Florida game for the easier travel and not so close to Christmas
2. more prestigious opponent

it's because the Holiday is one of the few non CFP bowls not on the ESPN family of networks.

It was on/covered extensively a lot last night on those shows.

Wish I could meet them at the airport.
They should have some kind of season ending fanfest, or public appreciation for the team

The atmosphere wasn’t like blow away or anything, but had some cool bells and whistles live

It was broadcast by competitor Fox so they probably decided to ignore it.

They ran some highlights
Maybe we should kick North Carolina, and BC
out and invite Uconn into the ACC. At least we get a champion in something that way.

This has to be the most prestigious bowl we’ve won since the Gator.

Given ACC revenue sharing and probably having to guarantee the bowl x number of tickets sold, did SU make some extra money?

Everything about it was good. The people complaining were dumb and wrong.

I was looking to see what the player gifts were, has anyone seen that posted? I enjoy seeing the list of stuff by bowl the kids get.

The fireworks after the game was spectacular. I’ve never seen anything like. It was thirty minutes of 10-15 fireworks at a time. This went on forever. It appeared to have more SU fans at the game than WSU. One of my favorite players is Meeks. He’s so polite. His mother is just like him. He said it was a great decision to come to SU. He just makes one big catch after another. So happy that he was able to get over 1,000 yards. He’s always has a smile on his face. He can play at the next level. He says he likes the cold weather. Nothing but positive vibes comes from this kid.

There was a news report that said only three would not play but that was incorrect. The coach said in his presser that no one who portaled prior to Dickert leaving would play in the Bowl. That number was 22.

The eight who have already transferred definitely did not play. That includes Mateer, din-Mbah, Lafau, Al-Uq-dah, Halberer, Parker, Hutson and Wilson.
Hills and Shackelford, WRs, did not play, backup QB McKelheer, and TE Whitney did not play. DBs Smith and Fraser did not play. Top O-lineman Fa'amoe did not play. Whether these were coach's decisions, injuries, or just not in attendance is unclear. And I could not find snap counts so unsure about the other seven who announced prior to 12/18 or any player that announced afterwards.

That is what I get for listening to the news. I should know better.
