Holiday Bowl Gameday...

I saw somewhere where we had only a 50.2% chance to win. The disrespect for the program remains. I hope we go nuts tonight. Play Kyle the full game. Set records.
I think that's the ESPN matchup predictor. And, it has to be based off of stats of the year, not the actual current composition of the rosters and coaching staffs.
Exactly. Vegas has WSU at 13% to win outright with the current ML.

Obviously a win so we finish with 10 wins and in the top 25 is most important, but other statistical things that would be cool to see -

Have McCord throw as deep into the 30s on TD passes as possible
Have McCord break into the top 25 all-time single season passing yardage NCAA record book (he needs 505 yards so... this one's a stretch but would be really cool)
Get LQAjr over 1,000 rushing yards (he needs 99)
Get Gadsden/Pena/Meeks each over 1,000 yards (needs 140, 129, 89 - this probably only happens if McCord actually does throw for 505, but hey, let's dream big)

Yep, I agree with a top 25 finish along with 10 wins. This is why I find it silly when some people say bowl games outside the playoffs are not worth anything. I see a lot of positives with a win tonight for our program, players, and coaches.

Edit: and fans

We're running the same play for the entire game:

"Everybody go deep"
We ran almost 100 plays a few times this year... I figure we call 90 pass plays for McCord and 10 draws for Allen.

If McCord completes 80 passes for a decent average, the record is no problem.

I'm actually more worried about Allen getting to 100 yards on only 10 carries.

Yeah, FPI is somewhat of a mysterious algorithm. I remember Packer saying two years ago that he asked tons of people at ESPN how the computer worked, and no one could answer him.

And he works there.
How in the heck does an algorithm not take into account who is actually playing or not playing in the game. What is the purpose of something so stupid.

It's designed more for the regular season would be my guess.

We stopped to see friends in Santa Barbara yesterday on the way home and this is where they wanted to meet for coffee. Talk about a great sign!

It's a strange mental role reversal. More often than not this century, SU football is falling apart by November and my mindset is "OK let's just get this over with so I can allocate all my sports attention to SU basketball." Now it's "ugh I don't want to SU football to end because the thought of having to focus all my sports attention on SU basketball feels like a three month long root canal."
