Didn't Hickory beat Hoosiers? Not to mention that the other team threw the ball away twice down the stretch.
seemed like a choke job to me.

Wow - that’s what bothers you about the movie. For me it was the racism and the a**hole coach.Didn't Hickory beat Hoosiers? Not to mention that the other team threw the ball away twice down the stretch.

HOOSIERS' SUCKS
“…They hoped that by making Hickory's opponents black, we'd immediately assume that they are stronger and faster and better than the small-town white kids. They used the black skin of Hickory's opponents as an indicator telling viewers to root against them.”
“This is hideous filmmaking that should be shot out of a cannon back to the Stone Age.”
Here is the problem with that. The team that Milan (hickory) beat in real life was Muncie Central. They had 3 black players. If the movie had made that team all white, wouldn't they have been subject to being called racist for not including black players who actually played in the game?HOOSIERS' SUCKS

Well, Indiana has a history of racism (see SI story about Kueth Duany) and history should not be ignored just because it makes people uncomfortable. The coach was a character.Wow - that’s what bothers you about the movie. For me it was the racism and the a**hole coach.
