Hope I'm wrong, but I don't believe that JB can survive this anymore

This is snowballing into some pretty weird stuff, the climate is hypersensitive after what happened at Penn State, and Cantor and JB have never seen eye-to-eye--she's not an advocate.

The lone thing I've believed would "save" JB was that he had no knowledge of Fine's peculiarities. I still believe that to be the case, but given this new pile of circumstantial evidence, that alibi seems flimsier than ever.

Hope I'm wrong, but I don't think Boeheim is safe.

I will stay out of the "whether he deserves it" debate, but I have conflicting thoughts on this now...(a) I think if things dont get terribly worse he may survive (I think surviving last night was a big thing), (b) I think if the rumors below is true, he will be gone quickly.

Selfishly, since I dont believe JB did anything wrong, I want him to make it through this year. I think Hopkins will be a great coach and a great recruiter. His staff has monster recruiters and if we can weather the storm, we will have a great year this year and next, it will fade away and we will be ok. If we fire Boeheim and DC and/or Grant de-commit...sinking ship.

Not sure how we got off on the wrong foot yesterday...I just hate the thought of glossing over this type of stuff and worrying about other things about the program when there are more important things to worry about (reminds me a little of PSU in that regard), but I understand your point on the program from before (and I agree with it).

No worries at all-- I'm sure we are all a bit touchy (wrong choice of words?) lately with everything so there's obviously going to be some board spats. It happens. No hard feelings.

I feel like I get kicked in the stomach every morning. The most haunting part of this whole thing is gd Armory started a post about a week after PSU discussing what would happen if it was us...this has been a nightmare ever since.

I agree with the OP... if the rumors about the players are true there is no way JB can survive this. If this comes out I suspect we go into a decade of suckiness as I don't see parents wanting to send their kids into such an environment.. I know I wouldn't. I suspect we will have a lost decade and recruiting will go back to the Ovcina and Celuk days. I will be shocked if any of the guys who inked LOIs for next year make it to campus at this point.

Sorry,ive seen JB more than my own father though,lol.Not that i know JB personally.But i could also say the same about me own father.I have grown up watching JB.JB = SU and the city of Syracuse to me.Just doesn't seem right having any without the other.

It shouldn't happen at all. Not unless there is evidence that JB willfully tried to cover for Fine's pedophilia. There is no evidence of that. Matter of fact the evidence points to JB being unaware of Bernie's penchant for underage boys. Any other sexual habits of the Fines and their adult partners, however kinky, should have no bearing on the decision as to keep JB or terminate him.

Now is the time for Nancy Cantor and the BoT to act like adults and do the right thing, not the most expeditious thing.

I don't know why people would think that JB is in any jeopardy. There is no evidence that he knew any more about this than anyone else at the University. Even an employee who is in a probationary period would not be fired without evidence that he had knowledge of Fine's private sex life. JB supported a friend of nearly 50 years appropriately. He withdrew his support when the evidence pointed to guilt. There is nothing about JB's behavior that is worthy of censure.
