Alternative was worse. We were screwed if this was delayed a year. Having enforcement mechanisms is also good for us.
Exactly the university was preparing for this. If it was rejected and/or delayed it would’ve been a major problem to deal with.

It may have been approved , but without congress passing a law, enforcement is not going to happen.
What about any written agreement among the P4 schools that they all agree to be bound by this including the NIL enforcement mechanism? It has previously been reported that all SEC schools have agreed to sign this despite state laws to the contrary, including, if not especially, the University of Tennessee.
So the concern is that alumnae support shrinks without competitive popular sport which must be paid by the university. That support will be expensive to maintain and will eventually take from the true mission of SU, educating its' students. I don't like that thought at all. I would be nothing without my education.
Higher education has nothing to do with major college sports. If colleges and universities were serious about education, there wouldn’t be major college athletics.

Yes it a game changer for Syracuse. Everyone associated with the program has been on edge waiting for this. It is extremely important.
universities have a more complex bs bureaucracy than the federal government. combined with an enormous lack of transparency and grossly elitists self important attitude under the guise of "academic freedom". its so complex that su cannot fix the law school, develop a first class research program etc etc. occ is more visionary productive and contributory than the other cny schools.
